it will pass. think i waited 5 days before my first poop post op. My Doc allowed some stool softner (one week post op)to make sure it gets all the Water in to let it move around more easely if ever I needed it.

Right! I'm 4 days post op and haven't pooped yet either... But I don't feel constipated either, so I'm just trying to give it time. I've definitely been passing gas so I'm assuming all is okay. My surgeon said anything OTC is fine, though, so if it goes on for longer than a couple more days I may take something.

Mine took over 2 weeks! Drink as much Water as u can and also Miralax. Also the best thing I bought that helped (and I wish I bought earlier) is the squatty potty. It was a game changer for me. I also hear they have on prime day a30% discount today. Best of luck! It is awful, I know!!

It did for me. Make sure you medical team allows it. They may offer a different method.

I'm 4 weeks post op and was NOT having issues until this past Monday. The previous week my surgeon started me on a Vitamin regimen that has quite a bit of Iron. Well after a few days I had issues with Constipation. Come to find out that the iron in the Vitamins, Protein Drinks, cheese and Peanut Butter can all cause issues and I had been using peanut powder in some of my shakes. Everything combined I'm sure didn't help! Yesterday I couldn't take it anymore so I used a Fleet enema. I've never had any kind of enema before but it helped right away. I texted my surgeon asking if I should change my vitamin regimen or what he would suggest and he said to try some milk of magnesia or Miralax. Hope this helps!

I think mine was maybe 3-4 days post up. I was literally in the bathroom for over 30 mins. I wish I would have know about the stool softener then.

I was sleeved exactly a week ago, July 6. My husband was going to my clinic to get more Protein juice for me, and I asked him to ask them if I could use Smooth Move tea as I had not yet pooped. Before he got to the clinic I finally had my first bm! It was small, soft, and not *super* solid, but it was there and real and I was happy.

In short, it took me 7 days. I was gassy, but I did not have Constipation pains. I just didn't feel like I needed to go.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
