Are sleeved folks able to eat popcorn at any point?

Recommended Posts

I was hungover yesterday and really fancied sweet and salted popcorn.. I bought a big bag and managed to eat almost half! Tasted far more salty then I remember but was gorgeous! No problems, no sickness. All you can do is try it.. Go for it =]

Oh good! Hungover AND popcorn! Good for you!
Yeah, good for me. I'm 28.. I choose to live my life. OH WOW I've had popcorn and a few drinks.. I'm going to fail, I forgot you were a doctor, and weren't just a person with your story, and what you did. My mistake. I've seen you on these boards and your general attitude.. Don't come for me.

I was on your side!! What did I miss?

LMFAO don't. Just don't. I woke up clearly on the wrong side of the bed, and the poster before you was being sarcastic.. And I thought you were doing the same. I'm sorry if I misread it =]

One month out and had a couple of Smart Pop handfuls yesterday for the first time. Chewed it up really well, of course, but it did just fine.

I am just under two years out. Yes you can eat pop corn and chips but I strongly urge you to be very careful. Foods like this basically vaporize when you chew them so your restriction does not limit how much of them you eat as with dense foods like Protein.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
