Balloon Removal

Recommended Posts

I still have 3 months to go and have lost 47 pounds. I should be thrilled but quality of life is terrible. Throwing up 3-5 times a day, weakness, little sleep. Fighting dehydration constantly. I have been in contact with doc many times over the past six weeks resulting in 3 additional meds. So now on Nexium, Reglan,Phenergan and lorazepam as needed. Seeing doc tomorrow. I really don't want early removal of the balloon as with a starting BMI of 30, it's my only option. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks !

@@buckleysmom - I'm so sorry to hear that ... I can't imagine. :-( It sounds like if you get the nausea in check, that will take care of the rest. Does not sound like you're lacking meds ... can it be attributed to certain foods, when you eat (ex too late in the day) or how fast you eat? Would maybe going back to all fluids help? There are some great Protein Drinks out there. Gosh ... I don't know what else to say. What kind of balloon do you have? I wonder if that makes a difference. Regardless, take care, be careful and stay in close context with your doctor - apparently someone at my doc's office got so dehydrated that she went into kidney failure before having early removal. No weight loss procedure is worth that. Best wishes for dramatic improvements soon!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
