I'm allowed to have crackers, and I'm on the pureed and soft food stage. My NUT told me to pick a cracker that will dissolve easily, like a saltine or Breton cracker. It basically turns to mush in your mouth, and then I chew it to death. It's a good thing for me to have now to put things on, until I can move to the raw fruits and veggies stage. I like the sound of using cucumber slices and can't wait to try that. But to echo others, every plan is different so follow the one that has been set out for you.

What does everyone mix the tuna with? Or egg? Or ground chicken?

Some ideas:

Nothing (plain tuna or get the flavored tuna packets)

Avocado

A dab of real mayo

Aioli (I have some flavored aioli from Stonewall Kitchen that is really good.)

Lowfat gravy

Tzatziki sauce

Pesto

Salsa

Bruschetta sauce

I mix dill relish and the juice into my tuna with some regular mayo . It cuts the sugar that I used to use in my pre op days of using sweet relish . Also the flavor packets of tuna are awesome bc they don't need to be refrigerated and you can throw them in your purse for traveling . You can also do a mix of boiled eggs and tuna and get more Protein in

Hey! I raised and showed--and judged poodles for years. I love the standards-silvers and blues.

Anyway, I digress---anytime for poodle talk! :)

I just add lemon go tuna. and lots of it.

Keep posting and let us know how your journey is going. I know it will be joyful since you have poodles! POODLES RULE!

Prayers going up.

@@LipstickLady I love ham salad! It's something my Nana used to eat and I often get it at the deli. I've never made my own but will some day!

It's SO easy. I throw some ham in my mini food processor and buzz it a few times. Then I add a generous plop of mayo and sweet relish and a dash of vidalia onion. Buzz it again to desired consistency and use as a spread during your puree' days or as a chunkier spoonable salad when you can have soft foods.

I have been known to use lighter sodium spam but I won't admit that out loud.

My soft foods includies two saltines in my diet plan which is surprising given how restrictive my nut seems in comparison to others.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
