Anyone else having surgery June 11 at Tijuana bariatrics?

Recommended Posts

Hi I am interested in how everything went.

I'm thinking about going with Dr Fernando Garcia as well. I would love to hear about your experience!

Everything actually went great. I had watched so many YT vids it felt like I had been there before lol. The only thing I found different was that there was much more of a language barrier in the hospital than I'd expected. A couple of the nurses spoke no English. It wasn't a problem just made me feel very alone ( my mom flew into San Diego, but I crossed the border alone ) Everyone was very nice and accommodating from the hospital, to the hotel, down to the drivers. It was well organized and definitely changed my whole perception of Tijuana.

As for healing I am feeling somewhere between 85%-90%. Im in almost no pain. Yesterday made a week so I'm happy with that! The all liquids post op, had me really weak at first. Today was the first day I've left the house for errands and such. Luckily I'm a teacher so I have a little extra time to get back to normal. I'm going to a wedding tomorrow, but Sunday I WILL revisit the gym.

Hw was 265 sw was 255 today a week later I'm 245!

... lol I hope I answered something. I feel this was all over the place. I took many pics and vids, I will try to have them on yt soon. I'll keep you posted. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
