I had my surgery 1 year and one month and a day ago today. I have barely lost 70lbs i have completely fell of the wagon. Four months after surgery i got a new position that involves me getting up at 2am and it was very difficult getting home and trying to get some exercise in and at this point even my exercise has gone completely down hill. All i wanted to do was just sleep. My food in take has gone from a set schedule to most of the time skipping Breakfast. At this point i have noticed that I munch on food when i am bored or stressed. I have been slowly going back to old habits. I don't have a very good support system and the some support i do have just doesn't understand. The one person who might understand tends to throw things in my face like my flaws. I don't want someone like that for me to go for when it comes to support or advice. I just need some time of advice opinion or some idea where i can have some type of snack at 6 am (break is only 15mins) be able to have a good 830 am breakfast (lunch is an hour long) and i can be able to handle my crazy hours at work. I work at Walmart btw its some what stressful sometimes.

@@steph1514 Go back to basics. Pack a little cooler to bring to work. For a snack - you could pack a greek yogurt, cheese sticks, some almonds, a Protein Shake, a Protein Bar, etc. For your "lunch" - pack some grilled chicken, veggies, chicken salad, scrambled eggs with cheese, crustless quiche muffins. Is Subway in your Walmart? Are they open at that hour - you could get a salad with meat/protein. You can pack anything - it just takes time to prepare and make sure you have good options. I would also recommend therapy to deal with the old eating habits.

Sending you hugs and support. You CAN do this!!!!! How about a Protein drink on break or your way to work? If you like iced coffee (and can have caffeine) try Chike brand. It's the one powdered Protein I enjoy/doesn't make me gag.

And that person who throws your flaws in your face? You don't need that and you don't deserve it. Surround yourself with positivity. Does your surgeon have a dietician or therapist you can talk to? Support Group? Is there an overeaters anonymous group that meets near you? Great source of support.

By the way, 70 pounds is FANTASTIC!!!!!! You CAN do this <3

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
