Sleeved 2012 no support gained 30lbs [emoji22] in last year

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I got sleeved July 2012 I started here posting and participating. I allowed the busyness of life too knock me off track visiting here. Since my sleeve I've had a lot of life events that have led me back too Whats familiar which is emotionally eating. I lost a dear friend too a stroke at the age of 32, I got married which was great, 2 months b4 the wedding my fiancé was laid off. (just too name a few ) I started before surgery at 302lb and got down too 232lb I'm am now 260lb. I'm constantly trying too get back on track seems my efforts keep falling off. Everyone around me doesn't seem to understand my struggle with food. There no one I can relate too when it comes to this battle I'm in my family looks at me like what's the big deal. My husband is super thin and can pretty much eat a bus and not gain and ounce. So I'm here now hoping too connect with others who truly understand this journey and get my self back on track. post-146040-14646212192636_thumb.jpg post-146040-14646212497437_thumb.jpg

Have you gone back to your doctor?

What have you tried of the suggestions for getting back on track on the forums?

I understand the struggle, weight gain can happen to any of us. You might try a counselor to deal with the emotional eating and stress.. You are in the right place for support. Find your motivation of why you had surgery to get yourself and your head back in the game.

Here are a few topics in bariatric pal that may help. You can use SEARCH box at the top right side of bariatric pal. This will help narrow down what you are interested in. Also helps from posting repeat topics.

Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual Health and Wellness

@@moorecr I know this prolly doesn't help your situation, but you are beautiful either way. Try going back to the way you had to eat preop or post op for a couple weeks. Don't skimp on calories, but do high Protein and soft foods with Protein. It's hard when the people around you can eat what they want. Who knows, that may happen to any of us who just got sleeved. Right now, week 4 post op, I can't imagine being able to eat how I did before because I was a huge eater-never full (emotionally), but I never know what may happen. The surgery was just a tool for me and the biggest problem is in my head. I hope you can find your way back, for healthy reasons, to eating more healthy. Keep us posted. You are in my thoughts.

Welcome back!

You can get lots of support on this site.

Congratulations on recognizing you need help.

Have you made an appointment with your NUT to talk about your challenges and goals?

Do you have a therapist?

Have you attended any support group meetings?

If not, I would suggest you get on the phone tomorrow and start making some appointments.

In the meantime, go back to basics:

Follow your program.

Track your food.

Make sure you are getting at least 64 oz of Fluid, every day.

What is your Protein target? Eat Protein first and make sure you are reaching your protein target daily.

Avoid starches, added sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup), and fried foods.

Take your Vitamins and supplements as directed.

Exercise.

And, Embrace the Stall

I'm relearning this app again please forgive me for not replying to each of you individually! Thank you for all of your. Responses it really is encouraging make me feel in not alone. I am currently seeing a therapist but with the cost of co pays etc for doctors visit it's hard to go as often as I like there aren't many support groups in my area. I have recently spoken with my surgeon just asking for some support or direction. The program I am in only required me too see a nutritionist once so I don't have one I see on a regular basis. It is hard to start over but I'm going to push as hard as I can. Really needed support form those who understand. So glad I got an email today from bariatric pal made me remember and come back. Again thank you guys so much I really really appreciate it!

Hey Ladies just checking in hope you all are doing well. Thank you again for you advice! Since I've talked to you guys I've seen my doctor and my therapist and waiting to see my nutritionist. I'm been put on anxiety / depression medication which is helping me a lot . I'm able to focus more and work on solving my issues instead of trying to eat them away. I'm still working on the nutrition part of it but at least I've been able to cut out the snacking and junk. And have been walking at least 7000 steps a day.

Go back to basics Alf, under 40 carbs per day, low fat, high Protein foods. The weight gain is coming from the foods that you must be eating.. Watch what you put into your body, get an app like my fitness pal and monitor everything.

I know Im late. I feel your struggle. I got sleeved in 2012 also. June 14th was my surgerversary. I put on 50 pounds in last couple years so I know your frustration. I manned up and went to see my doctor this past monday 6/20/16. I was sure he was going to go in on me for the late visit and for the gain but it was totally different. He said that I carried the weight gain well but said my blood pressure was high. Im 36 and too young to have high blood pressure. High blood pressure does not go with my outfit. LOL I even had to go back to sleeping with my CPAP machine. I was very discouraged but he told me to come back to see the Nut'ist and he wanted to see me in six months instead waiting a year. So Im paying attention to my diet and I walk an hour everyday. It feels like an up hill battle but Im determined to get back to were I was. You can do this. just take it one day at a time and know that you are not the only one who has fallen. If you need someone to hold accountable from now on the let me know. Sometimes I need that myself. I was a sexy fother mucker at my goal weight. LOL! Now I just feel like blah! Thats real talk. My wife likes the smaller me and I did too. She doesn't complain but I want to be healthier to be around for my family so thats my motivation.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
