interesting.

in the between sizes, I am either buying at Goodwill, or buying staples in the S,M,L, XL type sizes (L for now) because I find they last me through more pounds lost than numbered sizes. it feels so good to get rid of the XL and 2X - I never want to see them again.

Timely post. I found some items of clothing and knew they would come in handy while losing weight but did not yet fit and nabbed them. I now hope and pray that I can get down to a xl or l before the end of the summer. I'm talking basic pieces.

Read the article, don't really agree with investing in your clothes if you like to follow the trends as the season change... I do believe you should invest in good boots, shoes and a nice bag can make anything look good.

I would add - get a great tailor!

Lots of clothes can be taken in as you lose weight.

I'm afraid to even allow myself to think about it for more than, yep that long.......

I read all the amazing posts about running through clothes like Water, and yet, I want to remain grounded, and

be thankful....and not get caught up in the "smaller size" race....

Thank you for the article I will definitely read it and apply some of its suggestions~~

@@Lynne5767, I hear you - but the truth is, especially in the early months, we shrink out of our clothes at what can be an alarming rate. And we all know that the seasons and what is found in stores don't always coincide.

As a for instance, two months before my surgery, I ran into some end-of-season sales on some basics I knew I'd be needing - black trousers and dressy jeans for work, my favorite knit tops (Talbots). I got two pair each of black trousers and work jeans from Haute Look, and black and white tops from Talbots. They were in two consecutively smaller sizes. I'm in the smaller size of them all now, and so glad I did this, because I've had basics to wear.

I've gotta get busy, though, cause these won't last me forever. I just got rid of another two big bags of clothes that are hanging on me, including almost all of my summer capris and crops. I've just got time to get a few summer things in before everything is all fall and winter in the stores.

I live in northern CA, and we get some of our warmest days between September and mid-November. I have to plan ahead!

Great article! I have a closet full of classic pieces that are more "high end" from upscale consignment shops. I also shop at Forever 21 and other "junior" stores for fun outfits and trendier pieces that may only last a season.

I keep my clothes organized into categories (business, casual, dress up, dress down), too. And arranged by season and color. And then by sleeve/pant length. It's ridiculous.

@@2goldengirl

I should start here, I have started many an amazing thing, Loosing weight, countless times, starting a new project,

crafting something and then loosing interest, support or seeing progress. I have failed ME, there I said it,

1000 times over, I have failed me, I am crying and ashamed to type the words, but I have to own my truth, or I will not have my future.

I am terrified I wont succeed, I am too old to stay stuck and live less than the life I dream of when I secretly allow myself to "go there"

I am sorry this took a turn and here we are, but I guess it needed to be said.....

I will fight for me, Like never before, I have too many big dreams and hopes, and pure joy I want to experience

I wish it for everyone who reads this post

thank you

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
