You want to take health advise from Coke?

Interesting...Coke a Cola is sponsoring a new ad campaign claiming that you will lose more weight if you quit worrying about the calories you ingest, but instead concentrate on exercise. Hmm, does that hold up to reality?

More proof they are running scared as people start to figure out how bad their products are for us.

If they would be happy with the profits of people drinking an occasional Coke it would be one thing, but they do nothing to discourage people, especially children, from becoming addicted to their products.

Edited because eating is not drinking.

Well I heard that Coke can actually help you lose weight....but only if you drink it through a straw.

Thank you, @@Kindle ... laughing feels good over here.

But seriously, f**k Coke. Coke is a $46 billion public company created to make people drink as much dissolved white sugar as possible. That is all.

They're under pressure -- people are drinking less sugar-Water and even less diet sodas, worried about artificial sweeteners.

F**k 'em.

@@VSGAnn2014 I am sure the loss of sales from my surgery alone was enough to send their board into panic mode............ but I've never felt better.

Grew up in Atlanta, home of Coke a Cola. It and sweet tea were a staple for many years. Haven't touched it since surgery and don't miss it at all. Try to limit my kids consumption by offering healthier choices, but hard to always do when wife still puts the soda away.

I haven't been a drinker of the "real" soft drinks in a decade or more.

I switched over to "diet" coke and the like way back......and drank tons of it every week. Insane amounts of it.

I had my last diet soda the day before my Oct 2015 sleeve surgery.

My surgeon said I could now have them again if I so chose to. I don't. Perfectly happy without them. Water and coffee with the occasional tea are doing just fine.

I can't believe how much money I spent on diet sodas. Unreal.

I was addicted to Coke and mt dew for many years. I quit them cold turkey a few years before my surgery. After going through the horrible withdraws from it I swore I'd never go back to drinking them again and so I have not had them since May 2012. I have pretty much only drank Water and Vitamin water zero since then.

Oh, @@OKCPirate, ye of little faith. Surely the backbone -- the symbol -- of the nation would not mislead us. I haven't been there, but pictures of Coca-Cola's HQ tells us that the company built itself a temple in Atlanta on a par with the Acropolis. Faith, man, faith.

Years ago Marion Nestle (Uncle Google if you don't know her) and a PR guy from McDonald's were guests for a segment on a public radio program. The McDonald's rep was reciting party line...how McDonald's is a perfect component of a wisely-chosen, balanced diet. Marion, already one of my idols by then for her gentle-voiced, take-no-prisoners style, shut him down with few words. Cut him off at the mid-sentence pass.

This is not surprising, it's almost like when the Sugar Industry put out reports back in the 40's and 50's that sugar was healthy and good for you. Coke and the Sugar Industry have a very close/friendly relationship with one another. It's too bad that Coca Cola can't just stay in their own lane and stay out of things they shouldn't be in. I know the bottom line for them is money, but their greed has extended to owning water(Dasani), tea(Honest Tea), juice(Odwalla) and milk(Fairlife). I would like to think that my 2-3 Diet Coke's a day habit that I stopped hit them hard, but I know better.

Coca-cola is a marketing company that sells sugar and Water or fake sugar and Water, or just water (Dasani anyone?).

And now they sell milk, too.

Fairlife is pretty good stuff.....almost hate to admit this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
