Well so far so good....things couldn't be better, just as described!

I was picked up right on time and in the van on the way to OCC was a young girl 2 yrs out (whose father is surgeon in the states) whose is having her port moved behind the muscle from all her weight loss!!!!

The facility is beautiful, the staff is amazing, and I can't wait till tomorrow! I'll be picked up @ 7:30 am.

More to come once I can write! :whoo:

Well my surgical experience has been the least of my concerns. My Dr Ortiz experience has been the best part of this but I guess I am a wimp compared to the other Crazy Ates here posting their post=op experience.

I am so gassy.....the only times I feel good is when I haven't taken down anything EVEN water!! If I chew ice cubes I can get Water own without burping and hence having pain.

I couldn;t fathom returning to work, drinking milk based product, or blending down anything to thin???

I walk constantly! sleeping at night has been a challenge. This morning I woke up feeling like my throat was closing up (major anxiety) IS this the AM restriction everyone speaks of???

Anyway I am trying to stay positive and I will advance my diet as my stomach allows -just frustrating I guess??? :faint:

Hang in there FallsToFast. I don't think you're a wimp. I felt pretty awful the first couple of days. Things improve pretty quickly though, so I'm sure you'll be feeling much better in a few days. Rest and follow the doctor's orders and you'll be fine. BTW, great weight loss pre-op!

Don't rush yourself, FTF.....everybody is different and you may be a Spartan when one of us is totally wimping out over something else!!

Take it slow and easy and don't expect too much too soon.

Keep us updated. It'll get better.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
