I'm 3 weeks out and struggling. Every night and when I wake up I'm throwing up. During the day everything makes my stomach upset. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Even Protein Shakes are upsetting my stomach. I haven't lost weight in a week but I feel that's because I'm bloated and retaining fluids not foods.

Contact your surgeon just to be sure everything is OK. I vomited for months after my surgery and continue to periodically. I had to go in for a barium check to be sure all was OK

This close to your surgery, any and all issues that are concerning you should be addressed to your bariatric team.

Sure we on this site can and will gladly give you our opinions based on our personal experiences, but that is all that is ---our opinion.

Give your surgeon a call tomorrow and find out the right answer for your concern.

To me, it sounds like excess stomach acid.

I hope you feel better.

Please post and let us know what your "team" has to say. Why? Because we care! :)

Prayers going up for you, my friend.

To me, it sounds like excess stomach acid and GERD. Try sleeping tonight with your head elevated.

I hope you feel better.

contact your nurse or doctor straight away, I was told vomiting can put pressure on the stitches in your stomach so needs to be resolved straight away. Are you taking anti-reflux medication?

Maybe you could be asked to be prescribed some ant-reflux medication? I still suffer with reflux 11 months out and it can sometimes make me vomit especially after I've been lying down

@@beautifully2114 - what happened?

Did you contact doctors office?

If you cannot get through you should probably go to the ER, ALWAYS better safe than sorry.

Much better still at a stall but I guess that's normal.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
