Poll: I've been considering making YouTube vlogs, but would probably blur my face out. Would you personally watch a vlog when you couldn't see what the person looked like? Only their body? Or would it be too boring? Thanks for the input. (It would be about my journey with weight struggles and following through my vsg surgery when I get it)

No I definitely would want to see the face.... Plus, if I was a little unsure about the process, and I went to YouTube to learn more from actual patient stories but they blurred out their face....it kind of maybe implies that there is something to be ashamed of? I hate to use that word, but it would send me the silent message that this is something I shouldn't feel proud of doing.

If we were talking hip surgery, or even a heart surgery, would you hide your face?

Showing your face makes me feel more connected to you, and really connecting with you and your message helps me relate it to my situation.

Show your beautiful face.....you're doing a wonderful, brave thing.

:-)

I just feel showing the face gives the information more credibility, something about faceless video would make it anonymous. At least for me I think the face helps the viewer develop the personal connection with person presenting the information.

There's a lot of YouTube WLS channels and most show their faces. I've been doing videos - I've done like 5. The only "secret" part is that I've disconnected my WLS Social Media with any of my personal ones. There's a very slim chance that anyone that knows me personally is going to find them, I'd imagine. And if they do, they were searching for information about it, which is great and won't be weird/embarrassing.

Show your face!

Sending you good vibes .... You don't deserved to be ashamed of ANYTHING that has to do with this struggle and journey.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
