I am curious about something since i've been on this site. i hear people talking about their first, second and so on fills and so now i wanted to find out if the band is placed by the surgeon in an "empty" state until the first fill?

in other words, they do not fill it during surgery do they?

hi nilsa,

my doctor did not fill it during surgery. we need to heal from the surgery itself. in fact i didnt need a fill for 6 weeks after surgery. i've seen other people go at about 4 weeks

I didn't have any fill but Funny had surgery the same day as I and she said they put some in hers. I have the small band and she has the larger so I don't know if that had something to do with it or not. Dr. Curry gave me my first fill 3 weeks after surgery.
