Tightness out of nowhere!

Recommended Posts

Hey all- new here. Looking for some advice. I have been having stomach issues off and on for about 6 weeks I would say. My band has been randomly getting tight, but will loosen up with extra fluids and taking it easy on eating. Around noon yesterday I started having some really bad tightness and started pushing fluids and didn't eat any solids the rest of the day. I still had reflux until about 4am. If I dozed off at all I would wake up gagging on reflux. I've been on Clear Liquids all day today, but have had waves of nausea and thought I was going to vomit twice. My band still feels much tighter than normal. I'm able to drink fine, but something just feels off. I still feel like my throat is burning from acid. I'm going to get in with my surgeon on Monday, but this is miserable and I'm not sure what triggered it! Any thoughts?

Could be slippage. Hopefully it's something your doc can help you resolve soon.

Did you go to the Dr and find out what is wrong?

This sometimes happens with the band.... and is common.

When i had mine... this would happen:

Around the time for my period

When I was sick

When my tummy was inflammed

Early in the morning if i didn't eat a decent sized dinner

When i was stressed

When i didn't eat frequently enough.

The trick is to go back to softer foods for a couple of days.. let it settle down.

Try to have a warm drink as the first thing you have every day, i found that helped lubricate things for the rest of the day.

If it continues, as for a small unfill until it heals....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
