Dear Ivnmylife, Thanks for the response. I'm so new to all of this. I haven't told anyone of this surgery except my spouse and my son, so I'm glad I have all of you to bounce off of. If I didn't fill the restriction in air intack then I think I would feel about 80%. I know it's only been a few days, but it's hard to keep myself down. How are you dealing with your pain and gas? Sorry to ask, but have you had a bowel movement yet?

Banded 8/28/07 S.F. CA

Have not weighed yet, But know I am loosing.

Hi Coastalgrl,

I was banded the same day. Had my first *BM* yesterday, I feel alot less bloated now. As for the gas I don't know what made mine finally go away. I have been walking, started the day of surgery. I'm not walking miles, but just getting up seemed to help with the gas. It seemed like every few steps I was getting rid of some one way or another. lol

As for the pain, the first day I took the meds Dr Spivak prescribed me. The second day liquid tylenol was all I needed except for at night I took the script that night too. All I use is Tylenol now and not much of it. If you are having problems going to the potty that may be why. A wise band lady told me it can make you very constipated.

What is everyone eating?

Good luck to everyone!

Hi Costalgrl-If I didn't have the gas pains I would almost feel like a million bucks. My incisions just feel like bruises. I finally broke down and got GasX strips and those have seemed to help me get rid of the gas. I have been very mobile since the day after surgery...spent 3 hours shopping, same with the next 2 days. This morning the gas was bad...but I finally had a "BM" this morning and the gas pains are gone...hopefully they will be gone tomorrow morning (This seems to be when the pain is the worst). Just walking around the house and yard seemed to help with the pain too.

Good luck!! Every day should be better than the one before!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
