Pre-Op Liquid Diet... Does it get easier?

Recommended Posts

Yay!! I've got less than a week. I'm on day 8 and I'm sleepier and moodier than ever, lol. But, I'm trying to stay positive and trying to refrain from eating a slice of my coworkers' birthday cake, lol! We can do this!!! I know it! We're too close now to give up. Just think, in just a short time we will be sexier and healthier than ever! ;)

Andrea, you aren't allowed to say C-A-K-E. Lol. Haha a co-worker today was sitting at her desk eating honeycomb Cereal.. She didn't even know she was in danger! :-p Today is Day 8 here as well and I will say it's been much better. I am very sleepy as well though. So glad surgery is less than a week away! :-)

Day 7 for me, searched Pinterest for recipes for different shakes, so I am having a different flavour for each meal.

That's a great idea! I have been using PB2 in some of mine, makes it so much better!

Thank you @@KristenLe - it could be. I am very leary to take anything even if over the counter, I had a reaction to prescribed medication back in December and it has turned my life upside down and caused an enormous amount of health problems which is what actually led me here. I am still not back to myself. So I will just drink some black coffee and hope it goes away. That is a possibility though. It is pouring rain here this morning.

Awe, I hope the 6 months passes quickly! It seems so long!

Hey! I noticed you said that a prescription turned your life upside down and led you to this forum. Was the medication a steroid? I'm asking because, a steroid brought me here, too. They made my knees feel like they were breaking, made my face huge, and made me gain 50 pounds in 3 months. It was awful.

I start my liquid diet Tommorrow my surgery is scheduled for August 16 and I still have 3 lbs to lose by aug11 I'm worried I won't lose it

3 pounds by August 11th should be extremely easy to achieve, especially while on the liquid diet. I'm 90% sure you will lose even more than that. I lost 2 pounds on my first day of the liquid diet. Good luck! And please tell me how it goes. If you're struggling with this liquid diet, send me a message and vent. Venting definitely helps. And I'm more than willing to listen. :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
