It was for me too but i learned hot liquids went down better so worked around it that way...try different temps..my nutritionist told me 40-50gm of Protein at this stage is plenty i avg 40-45 right now on a good day i can do over 50...i drink my Protein Shake in the morning as soon as i wake up...thats 24-26 right there with 4oz of water... And drink black tea Isopure or another shake later in the day...its the easiest for me...and when i eat..i will make some chicken or tuna and nurse it until im done....

Yeah the Isopure is 40gm a bottle!! So i drink half of one a day and my Protein shake boom met my goal...i must have tried every flavor of isopure and found the tea one...its the only one that dont have the nasty aftertaste to me and half a bottle is doable for me...takes me about 45 to drink half...so if u like at it that way very attainable goal....

My nutritionist said the 51+ gm of Protein this early is too much for our bodies to handle...and i agree! Make sure u take a stool softener or something... If u start taking in a lot of protein!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
