Working out and your stages

Recommended Posts

I'm 2 weeks out and after walking for about 20 minutes and playing with my dogs I am totally exhausted.

Micoxvl - I'm also cold all the time. I have to turn on a blow dryer to warm myself up. I'd this normal??

Yes. You are burning a lot of calories as your body is "starving" mode. I think it will get better when you return to normal food. I noticed that I am not sweating as much as I used too and my hands are always cold which never happened to me. The more fat we will lose the more sensitive to cold we will be. That's still a small price to pay to be healthy in my opinion.

I cant help u there..cause i has a hiatal hernia so i have a lot more restrictions then most.

I would focus on cardio... Cause cause u can have all the mucles in the world but wont see it cause of belly fat...

Thats what my personal trainer told me.

Lol! I'm 46 and just trying my best to avoid the doctor for a little nip and tuck, but the odds are against me. I'll be bumping into you at the stretch mark cream aisle!!

I started walking the day of surgery - at first it was slow and 10 minutes each waking hour. I was recently doing about 5 miles a day but my weight loss slowed down. trying to do closer to 3 per day now. one day off a week. two weeks ago I was cleared for more and started doing a pilates routine twice a week or yoga type stretches. I would swim now if I had access - I LOVE to swim. was cleared for that to be ok at 4 weeks.

My doc allowed m to go back to they gyn at 3 weeks post surgery. Limited to work my arms and legs. At 6 weeks, I can attempt to add abs in, but he said to listen to my body and be cautious working the abs.

I stared walking for exercise 3 or 4 days post op. I started walking just a half mile, but was able to increase that fairly quickly. Just listen to your body and go with it!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
