@@Andrea72 - you must be somewhere near Pensacola. I have family north of Pensacola and in Atmore Al, both of which are Escambia County....go figure.

Bratt, Nokomis, Walnut Hill, McDavid....

Is there a hospital in Podunkville? That is where I would call.

@@jane13 the closest hospital that does bariatric surgery is in Pensacola and according to their staff, they do not allow patients from other facilities.

@@jane13, there are 6 hospitals in my area and only one surgeon that is in bariatrics. The one that doesn't allow outsiders. I'm good though. Thank you again for the help.

@jane13. I'm sorry if you didn't understand. I was using outsider as meaning if you did not go through his program for surgery.

I try not to be such a negative person so I am really sorry for this. Especially being my first post, but I had my surgery on 3/23. For the most part, I feel good....meaning I'm not in pain, but today is horrible. I guess everything is just finally hitting me, and I'm an emotional mess. Since the surgery, I've had no energy, I don't feel like having anything more than Water, and I just seem to be getting more and more depressed. I am single and only work 3 days a week, so I'm sure my solitude isn't helping, but please tell me it gets better.

HI I'm a year past, went thru the same things you are going thru. It will pass

Good to know Andrea. I am almost 3 weeks out. Supposed to be able to eat regular Protein etc. but the only non yogurt soft food i can tolerate so far is. tuna on crackers. I even had frothing yesterday yuck. I ate half a crab cake while out to lunch. Just the middle not the fried part. I am hoping because I drank like 20 oz of Water an hour before? It felt like something was stuck halfway down. Then I spit up foam. As long as it will get better I will go back to yogurt and cottage cheese.

Foamies are no fun. I actually didn't experience those for the first time until I was over a year post-op. You are exaxctly right, that something is "stuck" partway down. That causes your body to over-produce saliva and mucus, which is what the foam is. And since it can't get down, past the blockage, no choice for it but to come up. Yuck! The only way to get over the foamies is to wait for the blockage to clear by eventually breaking down enough to go down, or by throwing it up. Both times I've had foamies, I ended up throwing up and then felt 100 times better immediately!

I am pretty sure it's caused by eating too fast or not chewing thoroughly. It is a terrible feeling. Make sure you chew a LOT and take a little time between bites.

Agreed....foamies are not pleasant. It does get better @@jenjenp Actually there are many times I forget all about the surgery until I start eating too fast and my stomach quickly puts a halt to it. I can only speak for myself, but I know some days I can handle certain foods, and the very next day I could try the same exact thing and it be the worst thing I could have done. My biggest complaint with all of this is now I simply do not get hungry and if I didn't set an alarm to remind me to eat, on busy days at work I'd totally forget. Never thought I'd hear myself say that. Lol. I still have bad days, as we all do, but it's those bad days the make the good ones so much brighter!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
