Liquid diet day 2-STRUGGLING

Recommended Posts

Day 4 was terrible. I wanted to order a medium pizza and throw down. Today was WAY better.

My surgery is tomorrow morning.

Oh I wish I was that close to my surgery day, this might not seem like such an ordeal lol. I'm trying to drink so much Water that I lose my appetite. I want and need my surgery more than I want a large thin crust sausage and pepperoni pizza with light sauce and extra cheese.....I think ????

I have a question ? I'm in my 3 Ed day post op and I'm drinking Protein every 15 min is that ok ?

I guess as long as you are drinking the amount your doctor recommend per day it wouldn't matter if you drank a little every 15 minutes, as long as you get it all in. I would ask your doctor's office to be sure. I'm stumbling my way through this myself :)

Oh you're post-op, I missed that part, sorry. I don't have any experience with the post-op world yet. Maybe you can try going to the post-op thread and looking around there? Someone may have already addressed your question. If not, feel free to make a post and ask for advice. I'd always check with your doctor though.

Good luck Tiffany on finishing out your liquid diet. I am sitting at the hospital waiting for them to start my IV. Today is surgery day. I'm so nervous!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
