Losing every where except my stomach and back

Recommended Posts

I am exercising at a reasonable pace but my stomach and back will not bulge. Is anyone going through this or have any suggestions? I am frustrated at this point.

People lose weight different ways. It's very common to lose weight from certain areas of the body before others. It may be that for you, back and stomach come off last. Congratulations on your success so far! Keep up the good work and you'll eventually see the results you want.

You will lose in your own way, in your own time. I've lots a crap ton in my face, neck(I now have one again), upper body, and butt, but as far as belly and thighs, they are going a lot slower. It's to be expected since I'm a 7 time mom and have been resistant to weight loss for a long time. It will come off. It just takes time.

Agreed with everyone. I lost in my feet first, I can wear regular shoes now, even those tiny heels ppl buy although I can't walk in heels, I tried them on for the hell of it. I've lost some in my face, but my butt and my thighs are losing. I feel my tailbone on the seat, and my thighs have saggy skin on the inner parts. We all lose different. I still have a stomach but it may just be taking it's sweet time. My boobs did get smaller though, ugh.

I have lost mostly all over, but my belly is still really big. I can tell it is smaller than it was, but I carried most of my weight in my abdomen and so it is coming off slower. I have been weight lifting lately as well as swimming and running and I can see definition in my shoulders/arms and legs that I have never had before, but I need to build a better foundation under the flab on my stomach. That is about the only thing you can do. No exercise is going to spot reduce, but you can prep it to look better when the flab finally lets go! I am hoping that because my stomach is going away slower the skin, of which I have LOTS, will also shrink better than it has on my arms where it shrunk fast. I also have some crazy side book under my arms that could go away any time, but I suspect that may be slow also.

Keep on keeping on and eventually it will shrink more.

I'm the same way. Arms, legs, face are all normal looking now, but my belly and back still have loads of fat.

I've heard that when losing weight, it's "first on, last off". That's certainly proving true for me!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
