Aloha Ladies, I have a kind of personal question? I know as we all have gotten bigger, so have all kinds of places on our bodies, and there are solutions to fixing these particular areas afterward, like tummy tucks and boob jobs, but what about our .."pubic mounds"? If you know what I mean. As I have gotten bigger so has that, and what happens to it after we lose weight? Does it get smaller too? Does the skin shrink back to normal size? Or does it stay stretched out like our tummies, and if it does, OH MY GOSH what does it look like later after weight loss. Please help, the thought of what it might look like after weight loss, and if it doesn't shrink scares me. What a sight it must be.

I was watching a plastic surgery show, don't remember the name, but the woman had lost alot of weight and among other procedures, she had a "pubic lift" done ... so don't worry, there is a solution :)

Nani,

My highest weight was 276 and that area did go back to normal size. I think it would depend on where you carry your weight

I do have a small apron. Thank goodness small enought not to cause me any health problems.

I knew it., knowing my luck, I am one of those that would need a pubic lift. Who would have know that there was such a thing. But.... at least there is such a thing. as long as the pubic skin, doesn't hang past my skirt, I guess it would be manageable. LOL, thanks ladies..

I had a Tummy Tuck a year ago on the 15th. And when they did the tuck, the pubic area was lifted to a degree. For me, that's all it needed. It doesn't stick out any worse the other women my size (not that I am looking on a regular basis!)

I think getting down to a healthy weight usually takes care of the pubic area fat.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
