Thanks for all the kind words.

I got in 4 miles this morning. It's a light running week because of the half marathon on Sunday -- woohoo! I'm looing forward to it. I feel like it's my first "real" race.

Dawn, don't worry about your time. It's amazing that you ran at all while sick. I read somewhere that it doesn't hurt you to run with a cold and that you usually feel ok once you get started. I ran 16 with a cold a week ago Sunday and it was pretty miserable (and very slow). Good for you for hanging in there.

I don't use Facebook -- should I?

Happy September all. I'm trying to be upbeat about the change of seasons, though I must admit, summer is my favorite month....

Hi all, Had a great holiday week-end - and yesterday - our 46th Anniversary had the kiddies over for a bar-b-que!!

Went to NIA on Sunday morning, walked to the movies in the afternoon and then took Monday off of official exercise.............did work in the yard, cooked and slept really well last night. This morning Boo - did our walk to/from Miller's for Breakfast - when Boo was here we showed her where we did our Tues/Thurs walks!

Drat! I had a little clumsy accident over the weekend :faint:

At first I thought I broke my ankle, but it is only a slight sprain. Whew! Just when I was so charged up for this new month, too!

Hopefully, I can run soon!!

Boo,

Take care of that ankle. Don't run on it until it's 100%, OK? Cross train for a few days. I want you to run forever and not battle an injury! I know it's hard....

Today, I meet with my trainer. Tomorrow, I have my last run before my 1/2 marathon....

Catch yall in a few hours,

Uh...too late...I already ran. I just walked every two miles.

JULIE! SIXTEEN POUNDS TO GO???? You are 'teens away?!?! I can't imagine what that will be like. Seems like yesterday we were celebrating your 100, 150, and 200 pound losses and now you will be at goal very soon. Lead the way, girl!! (You get to run with the torch to usher us all in)

Eva, how is it going??

Betty, I just hope you don't end up too tight again. Aren't these bands tempermental? Since I figured out that my medications were irritating the stomach/pouch, and giving too much restriction, I just quit taking them. Uh, kind of a bad idea, but I could not tolerate the pain any longer. So now I am off ALL medications! There isn't any more burning or pain! (The down side is that I'm hungry more frequently)

Boo.. I hope your ankle is okay.

Betty... good luck with your fill.

Julie... 16 pounds to go... amazing!!!! You look so great. Can't wait to hear how your half goes. I am jealous... mine is not until January.

I ran 5km this morning with speed drills. Still sick- so not a great time and not the most fun ever, but it was fine and I am happy to do it. I weigh in tomorrow, so I will let you all know. My big run in Saturday (big for me at least... 14 km)

Have a great day.

Facebook.. I am on there... I never post pictures here because I have a hard time downsizing, with our speed on the net, but I have a page there (no befores of course).

Anyone want an invite to face book, send me a pm and I will email you an invite.

Have a great day!!

The scale was flickering between 149.8 and 150.0 this morning. I blew my breath out and got it to stick to 149.8 -- I'm claiming it!

Thirteen pounds to goal.

I'm really seeing the end here. I may actually change my goal in about 5 lbs because I'm not sure I want to lose 13 more, plus the 10 from the thigh lift. I'm really comfortable with the size of my upper body right now and since surgery is going to take care of the legs, I might stop short of that. With all the training and the buff muscles I've built (haha), I think I might look better in the low 30s/high 20s as a final, post-surgery weight than anything lower.

Anyway, it's carb loading day in prep for the race, so YEA! Wink.

oh Julie... you are soo good. I was hoping (and really deserved) a loss this week, but I don't count 1/2 lbs and that's what it was. Oh well.

I a still 15 lbs to goal, but feeling good.

when is your half? I will of course be checking it for you (last name???) anyhow I hope it goes great. I have 14 km scheduled for Saturday so I will be thinking of you.

My dh is started to tell me not to loose any more weight.. how is that possible? Since I have had no ps, I do have pouns of skin, so I have skinny wrists and shoulders and a flabby belly... how will I know when the time is right for me with this extra skin???

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!

Dawn,

I think we have to dip a couple of pounds into "too skinny" then put them back on to arrive at our final deal weight. I think that's the way it goes and the only way we recognize what "ideal" is. Of course, I've never seen you, but I can't imagine that's much lower than the mid or high 150s for someone your height, with no plans for PS and with your running muscles. I'm going to try and take my own advice here, but just keep in mind there's a such thing as too thin, even though we never actually thought we'd face that problem. We've got to keep on high focus reality goggles when looking at ourselves and not just be happy for all downward scale movement.

YEA, carb loading day! I love carb loading day! (wink)

Just letting yall know I'm back from the half. I beat my expected time by a lot. I finished in 2:14 (that's a 10:22 pace for 13.1 miles)!

It was a great day and more details later. For the moment, so glad to be back in my apt and ready to sleeeeeeppppp.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
