Exercise Challenge! Go for the Gold!

Recommended Posts

Dawn,

It had not occurred to me that Lululemon was the brand you'd recommended. I'd looked at their website when you suggested it and liked the colors, but didn't think I could wear a tank at that point. Then I tried one on at the gym last week and I was sold. Yesterday, I went to the actual store in Lincoln Center. It was good, but they didn't have the exact style I was looking for. Apparently they change their inventory all the time, which is a little frustrating since most of their styles are too low cut in the back and cut me at a weird place, given my extra back skin (gross).

I got in 4 miles this morning at a 9:45 pace. That's just as fast as I can run any kind of distance at all. I need to read about speed training strategies -- after the marathon.

The scale moved ever so slightly this morning, but I'll take it (knock wood). Particularly as it's PMS week, which usually means a small (and temporary) gain.

I will take -35 with the windchill at -55 anytime!!!

My, Dawn, you are just amazing!

JUlie, you dropped another pound!!! YEAH!:whoo:

Eficka, thanks for the laughs:p

I do feel like I'm wilting right now, and can't wait for the pleasant fall evenings for my best running conditions!

So now I gotta check the running clothes. They sound great.

I'm thinking I need to work much more with weights and upper body. My rear is fitting into size 8, even without a new drop in weight.

Take care, all!

Boo, if your rear is fitting into smaller pants, the numbers on the scale should be coming any day now (knock wood). That's the way it happens for me, at least. Size first, then numbers. WOOHOO!

Go Dawn on your extra lbs down this week too. We are all doing great!

At least, I was until I agree to a lunch date with my office flirtation and had 3 courses at a fancy greek restaurant. I didn't make awful choices and the portions were small, but it was still 3 courses and a glass of wine. He's cute enough that it's worth the cals though....Wink.

I had a great 10 km this morning. It was 1:08:02, but it included a 1 km hill at a 8% grade... so I was happy... boy that hill was a killer, but I need to work on it. I feel great, with the exception of the fact that my kids and I are all feeling a little sick. I was glad to get the run in before I come down with whatever this will be.

How can we all be doing this???

Amazing.

I'm headed out for my run in just a few minutes -- just 8 miles on the training agenda for the day because of the half marathon next weekend. I know Dawn -- I don't know how we are doing this but we are! Go Team April!

I'm going to set my challenge very, very high this month, at 25. I don't want to maintain that for the long term, but this is my big marathon training month and I need motivation to get in the cross training I need in addition to the 4 days of running. Plus, I've got to get in advanced credit for November and December where I won't be working out at all, after the PS.

Happy September everyone!

Gang - you are all doing great! Julie, Dawn - your amazing weight losses continue and you are true jocks! Boo - running even after having your already gorgeous legs made more gorgeous - go girlie friend!

OK - I'MMMMMMM BACK! This last month was not horrible, but I was not accountable to anyone and it was a different month - I did exercise - have no idea how many times (not as many as usual) and I did because of my band not "go crazy" (but it was my worst month since banding with food - just not some great choices).

Before NIA this morning I got out my BB from the drawer where it's been hiding and I'm going to track my food (honestly) to the low calorie side!

I'm going for 25 sessions this month also Julie - I need to get back with it - I missed keeping track!

You guys are blowing me away - this can't happen! I'm back!

GO BETTY!! You can do it!

I ordered the wrist thingy for the BB. I'll let you know how I like it. I must confess, I don't use my BB all that much, but I do still log my food on their system -- I like that part of it. I'll probably use the BB again this month too -- THIS IS OUR MONTH!

I just got back from a major shopping spree. I intended to go to Home Depot and buy a new sink, but I stopped at Ann Taylor (where I bought a suit for court this week because nothing I had fits -- size 4P jacket and 6P skirt!!), Bebe, Arden B, the list goes on (as will the credit card bill).

I seem to be picking out a lot of hot pink these days. Guess someone wants to be seen. Wink.

Oh my G.. Julie - Size 4/6..................wooooo, when you get the PS done you'll be squeezing into a size 00 jean like my 15 year old grandaughter! I'll keep my eyes open for sales for you! My Mom and I used to go looking on all the sale racks for my teeny weeny little sister-in-law - she was a size 1/3 and we'd get some of the funniest looks from the sales people!

Great day so far! Went to NIA this morning - and am going out for a walk as soon as it cools down a bit! The BB does push you.

Wow... Julie you look fantastic. I wish I looked half that good. love the suit.

I have been sick all weekend, but still did my 5km this morning. It is supposed to be a fast 5km, but it wasn;t fast- hard to run fast when you can't breathe well... but at least I got out.

How was everyones weekend? Does anyone out there use Facebook? ?

Talk to you later,

Dawn

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
