other than my wisdom teeth and a cyst on my finger this was my first "official in the hospital" surgery. I was taken well care of and didn't have a bad experience at all.

No regrets!

It was my first surgery of any kind. The closest I think I have come was stitches when I was a kid. The nurses during prep were a little concerned, as I looked pale when they were doing the IV and poking me all over the place with needles (why they don't feed all that through the IV?). I really had no idea what all was going on. They finally wheeled me in the "back" and knocked me out. Woke up and everything was OK; albeit in some pain. OK a lot of pain...

In hind sight there really wasn't anything to be scared of... Go to a reputable surgeon and you will be OK!

The first few days are rough I will not lie about that, but it is so worth it. I am a little over a month and feel pretty close to normal outside of eating in tiny amounts (which is the purpose). I am down 50 pounds since 12/13 and not looking back!

It was my first surgery also. I was not really scared, because I didn't really think it was going to happen, so I was a little shocked when I woke up in pain in the recovery room.

Apparently I did not react so nice to the anesthesia so they kept me in the hospital an extra day, as a precaution. No biggie, I was so out of it I didn't care. You will do fine. Also, remember to walk, it does help alot to get your energy back.

This was my 7th surgery that was done in an OR and involved anesthesia.

Ankle, knees, hernias, etc were all done prior.

The sleeve surgery was an absolute piece of cake. Nothing to it.

Yes, it was my first surgery ever so I had no idea what it would be like.

It turned out great. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Aside from having my wisdom teeth removed, this was my first surgery. I was scared but handled it well.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
