Love the pic, @LipstickLady. This is me on New Year's Eve with the 70 and 35 lb doggies terrified and shaking in my lap from fireworks.

Ok, seriously.......... Mine has no respect for personal space either. He likes to be right on me. And I mean on me.

I am Pre-Op right now but I am worried about this also. I have 3 pointers and they are crazy energetic, wild monsters who think they are lap dogs (all at the same time) and like to sleep in the bed with us! One is 5years old, one is 1 year old and one is 7 months old. I will probably keep them outside when I have the surgery but I worry about them jumping up.

Now you have me worried as well. This is my future offender who is always after me for hugs. Great Danes are just giant lap dogs .

Thank you. We have two. Bella and this handsome guy Maverick. Bella is more calm because she is older. But this guy is a hugger. 10 months old and stands taller than me.

So precious! I have always wanted big dogs. Now I have cats. I have had to put down my 18 year old dog and a 15 year old. Don't think I want to get that attached any more :( however I am super duper attached to my cats.

Pets become our family. Sorry for your loses. We lost our Samson last year. It was hard and my husband didn't want another but a I fell in love with Maverick. He didn't replace Sam, he reminded us why we loved him so much.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
