  • I have a tentative date of Feb 17. Waiting on insurance pre-auth. Looking for a buddy as well... It would be good to compare notes on our journey.

  • Thank you! Heard back from the case manager. She put me on hold and went to ask the surgeon directly. He's fine with any OTC meds so long as they don't contain aspirin or ibuprofen. Said we're a go. T

  • Haha! My dog smelled like Doritos one morning, which happen to be my favorite....I really feared for his life!!! 5 more days till surgery and I'm hungry tonight!! Stay away poochie!

Hopefully having my sleeve surgery this Thursday the 18th. I came down with walking pneumonia 2 wks ago and the surgeon wants to see me tomorrow to see if he hears fluid in my lungs. Any fluid then surgery is postponed until April. ???????? Stinks if that is the case because I will have to do the 2wk liquid diet all over again.

Hi Sammie16...how are you feeling? It was a little rough when I woke up but am feeling much better today! Hope things are going well with you! Take care & good luck!!!

SuzzyQ_deli...sorry to hear about your pneumonia! Sending prayers your way! Can't imagine having to do that liquid diet again! I was such a germophob before I had my procedure! Good luck to you & feel better soon!

I woke up in a lot of pain. Fortunately it is starting to settle. How are you today?

I have a question my surgeon does not do the two week preop liquid diet what's your thoughts about that and also my skid my surgery is next week February 25 and I need a buddy I live in Georgia

I am in the hospital and I had my surgery yesterday :) I have been very blessed so far. The pain has not been bad and I am practically running down the halls (according to my mom). I am having trouble sleeping right now because I amurinating quite a bit. Overall, I feel good.

I lost about 15lbs on my 2wk pre op diet and my understanding was it is a way to heal your liver and allow a safer easier surgery for the doctor. It really wasn't too bad but I also was sick for part of it and didn't feel like eating anyways. If I were you I would try to stick with a low carb/ low sugar and high protein diet now until your surgery. It will not only allow you to have an easier surgery but give you an idea on the new lifestyle and food choices you will be making after surgery. I am actually glad I did it. I will be sleeved tomorrow here in TN.

Hi Sammie16! Glad you are starting to feel better! I was in a lot of pain when I woke up too! I started feeling a little better once I got the pain meds! Had to take the anti nausea medication twice but it made me feel better right away! Once I was able to get up and moving, things were a lot better! I got to go home yesterday and was able to get a good night sleep. My sister bought me a wedge pillow which keeps my head elevated. My doctor said I needed to keep at a 30% incline when lying down. Got a shower and actually feel human today! ???? I am getting ready for my first protein shake. Hope you are well and making good progress! Take care! Keep me posted!

Home again, home again, jiggity jig jig! Phew! I had a lot of a nausea, so they kept me an extra day. Felt great the night of my surgery. Then got sick the next morning and felt like crap all day Tuesday, then pretty darn good again today. Concentrating on getting that Water down!

Hope everyone else is doing great!

???? Songsmith....glad to hear you are doing better! Each day I felt a little better! Keep drinking and moving! You're doing great! ????

My surgery was not bad at all! I expected way worse. As soon as I was conscious I took Gas X strips and will continue every 4 hrs. So far no severe gas pain. I have walked the halls 2x and drank some tea and Gatorade, about 1-2ounces every 1/2 hour. I am using a little 1 ounce medicine cup and dip it onto my glass this way I am just sipping and I can make sure I don't drink too much. I have not been nauseous.
