I am scheduled for the 13th! The week is quickly approaching. I only have to do one week pre op diet. Too. Having trouble trying to put together some pureed recipes for post op

I'm the same day. I also only have 1 week of the pre op diet too, I'm dragging already and I'm on day 4 . How about you?
Have you tried to look on Pinterst, you can search for anything.

Thank you

I'm on day two. I'm not doing too horrible if anything I'm having trouble eating during the day. I'm kinda scared I'm going to be in a lot of pain. I've never been through anything like this never even had my wisdom teeth taken out.

Oh your so nervous that you can't eat you mean. I have been bariatric surgery once before with the band and yes some people do have pain. But everyone is different. I'll be honest the gas you feel afterwards is the worst. But believe when I say after all is said and done and your pass the first month with the post op foods and you look in the mirror it is all worth it. .. Man I Should take my own advice. . I'm still so nervous myself.

Yes Daisy, I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed last year and was told that I would need to a hysterectomy. However I got a second opinion and I was able to be treated with hormonal therapy which I am very grateful because I have no kids and me and the hubby always planned to have our own. Now I've been through IVF and we have 9 embryos in the freezer waiting for me to get healthy enough to carry. They say that weight is also a contributing factor for Uterine cancer thus I know I have to move forward with this procedure for many different reasons. Kudos to you for surviving Uterine cancer because I know it's not easy. ????

Oh, I'm so glad you had some good options!!! Praying that everything works out for you! Mine was found after an ablation - we do have one kiddo and my symptoms were just too miserable. They found the cancer and I ended up with a hysterectomy in July, which was when my WLS should have been. It's all good now and surgery was the only treatment needed. Back on track and now about 4 weeks out from sleeve surgery.

I'll be thinking if you and praying for an awesome outcome all around!

If you live near a Sonic, get yourself a bag of sonic ice for your freezer (or at least a couple of cups of it). They have the best crushed ice and it really helped me to stay hydrated the first week after surgery.

Great idea! I'll past one coming home.

So exciting to read all your posts. I'm almost at my 1 yr out date. 1/28. I'm down almost 120lbs...a whole new person. I can't begin to tell you how great it feels. Best decision I've made and I'm sure you will all feel that way too. This page was a Godsend....answering questions I couldn't get answers to elsewhere. Good luck!!

Congratulations to you on your wt loss! Thanks for the encouraging words. If you have any tips for the newbies please let us know. God bless!

The biggest tip I can give...give yourself time. Do NOT expect results over night. Stalls are going to happen. It's part of it...but I promise, if you are following the program, the weight will come off. When you aren't losing pounds, a lot of times you are losing inches. Take a before picture. I didn't and regret that. Wished i would have. :)

Good luck.

My surgery went well yesterday. I had no complication. My surgeon did the leak test while I was still in the OR so when I made it to my room. My urination was green. Kind of weird it started returning back to yellow in time. I got up and walked around a lap around the floor twice yesterday. I tolerated small sips of Water, Propel, chicken broth very well. My pain was manage with liquid Lortab every 4hrs. The surgeon saw me this morning told me I was doing exceptionally well and I could go home. So he gave me a bolus to give me a head start on hydration and I made it back home today. I must say surgery wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. ????

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
