2nd Fill yesterday

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mel and I had my 2nd band fill yesterday. I have lost a total of 2 and half stone (31lbs) but had struggled to loose anymore after my first band fill. So I hoping the 2nd fill that has taken me up to 6ml will do the trick. On my liquid diet now for the next 2 weeks then pureed and then finally solid foods ish!.

Anyone one else struggle to loose after their first fill?

Yep! Me! I had my first fill 3 weeks ago and having my second this week! I've plateaued since the first fill! Looking forward to the 2nd fill....and very hopeful about the 2nd!

Bandster Hell! I suppose!....but hey at least I've lost....not gained....and toning up as I'm working out alot!

I was banded on 4/10/07 and had my first fill on 5/8/07. That was a nightmare! My doctor and the techs discovered AFTER the needle was in me that the port had flipped. They fooled around (with the needle in my skin!) for 15-30 minutes trying to find the front of the port and it was facing upwards towards my face! Once my doctor found it, she told me that she was making me real tight---at first I couldn't even swallow my own saliva! After drinking the barium and some Water, however, I was fine. I ate bandster-style until a few weeks ago when all hell broke loose!

In the past month, I have struggled tremendously with eating large amounts of any-and-everything, and gaining weight, so I'm looking forward to a second fill on 8/14. I hope this one goes much smoother than the first. I've recently joined a health club and want to start losing weight again. I've lost as much as 20 pounds, but have gained about 4 pounds back. This is a struggle, but less of one because of the band.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
