Are my supplements okay?

Recommended Posts

I got so confused. The gummies don't have Iron, so the GNC guy recommended Floradix, he also recommended the green supplement as I wouldn't be eating for a while. This is all for post-op, planning to mix them into yoghurt, Protein shakes, etc.

I got CVS Calcium +D&K chews, pack of 100, on a 2 for 1 deal last week! Walgreens has the same deal on theirs at the moment, in case anyone else is interested!

You should double check with your NUT or surgeon, however I would say off hand you don't really need the green supplement. if you're going to add things to yogurt or make Protein Shakes in the nutra bullet you could add a handful of spinach instead. You may also want to consider adding a tsp of flax powder, pysillium or wheatgerm to your drinks or yogurt daily. It may help prevent Constipation.< /p>

We use Vitron-C for Iron and the chewable Building Blocks Multivitamin (contain B12). Wife uses Nature Made adult Calcium gummies and I use Kirkland sugar-free calcium chews (chocolate or caramel).

I started off taking a Multi, Biotin, B complex, and calcium citrate w D for the first 3 months. I think these are commonly recommended. My labs have always came back good.

Before surgery I took a Multi daily, so it wasn't hard to add a few others.. I have also added a coq10, and Omegas daily.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
