Hi. I just signed up on this. Not sure if I am even doing this right. Had sleeve done July 7th. Have been stuck twice already. I am very aware i have an emotional eating problem. Does anyone have any suggestions how to overcome this and persevere with the weight loss when it is multiple family members that put all the stress in ones life. My health is good and job is ok...but the family stresses me out. Thanks for any help.

If any of us knew exactly what we were doing we might not need to be here in the first place. Seriously though, I am right there with you, stresses come from all over, some come and go, some seem to take residence in our lives for a while.

I am also very new to this site and to this process in general. I would love to think I have this whole thing figured out but I know deep down, not so much. I guess the goal here is to help each other and somehow make it through.

I am blessed to have a family that is 100% supportive, but if the situation was opposite, I would dig my heels in and refuse to discuss my health with any of them and be around them as little as possible. If I had saboteurs in the house, I would just have to focus and walk away from their dietary mess. I feel for you - just don't give away your power. Hugs from Chicago.

Have you considered working with a therapist to develop strategies to deal with the stressors? We all are probably guilty of using food for purposes other than nutrition, but we need to develop other ways of rewarding ourselves and comforting ourselves other than with food. Love Miss Mac's Ben Franklin Quote - so to the point. Working on some new hobbies and exercise are some ideas that I am looking into in order to get my head out of the fridge, lol.

Remember the Serenity Prayer, too, it applies here.... Good Luck and hang in there

I'm blessed to have married into a very loving and stress free family but my blood family is very stressful and can only be taken in small doses

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
