My first day wearing a size large shirt and pants

Recommended Posts

I have been going to planet fitness for the last four months as my hubbies guest. I joined yesterday as my own member and she gave me a large shirt. I kinda laughed and just took it thinking I will be able to wear it in a month or two. I came home and tried it on. It fit!!! On Thanksgiving I wore a pair of large yoga pants and they fit!!! I am so excited as I have not worn a large size since I was probably about 14(I am 40)!!! I worked out today, I did my first full body workout instead of just working my legs or arms. Then I tanned!!! Yes I have not done that since high school for a dance. But I want to look good as well as feel good and be tan is a goal as I have not worn shorts since middle school because I felt like I was to big to wear them. So I am going to be ready to wear shorts and maybe swimsuit shorts:) I am excited!!! Going to Atlanta over spring break and maybe it will be warm enough to swim which I have not done in 20 years!!

a little of both, don't want to look like a ballon in clothes that don't fit right, but everyone says they do:)

Congrats! I have just gotten into a large as well. It feels great to shop in the "normal" section. Many more choices and not having to look for the largest size is a kick! Now to control the shopping habit...

my budget is what is holding me back. I would love to get rid of all my XL and go shopping but it is going to have to wait till after Christmas and personal property tax at end of the year.

To quote Irene Cara (and whatever happened to her btw?): "Oh, what a feeling!"

Congrats!

What an awesome NSV.

My own experience is like yours, in that sometimes I look at clothes and do not believe they will fit ... AND THEY DO :)

Recently bought some shorts in size 44 (I used to wear size 60 pre-op). When I looked them, couldn't believe I could fit in something so tiny. Yet they fit.

PS Hoping your visit to HOT-lanta was a fun one.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
