Hi All,

I just got banded yesterday, July 19, 2007. Dr Gorecki at Methodist Hospital, in Brooklyn, was just wonderful. So far I havent experienced any pain was able to walk as soon as I came out of recovery room. I will be looking forward to any advice or suggestions from my fellow lapbanders.

Congrats! I was banded 7/17 and still have some pain, like when getting out of bed or from a sitting position. I have this very heavy bloated feeling, I hoep it goes away soon. I'm on full liquid diet now, not so bad, either. I ask myself though, "did I do the right thing?" And the response I get is when I start to really begin to lose, I won't be asking myself that anymore ) Good luck to you...

Congratulations!!! I was banded on the same day at Hershey Medical Center in PA. I am doing great! I only have some discomfort at the port site and very little in the way of gas pain. I only have trouble getting in or out of bed. I'm glad you're doing so well.

Best of luck for your continued recovery!

Debbie

Congrats! I have a little soreness too. Basically, I'm afraid to move but still no pain. I'm on Clear Liquids too till my post op this coming Weds. My port site is a tender too, its a few inches above my navel. Were you given that option?

You know I asked myself the same thing in the recovery room. Well at least we're all on this journey together. I confident that you will do well.

Congrats!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
