Hello all! I'm kisha...25 yrs old..just had a sleeve 10/26...down about 28 pounds. Anyway just had a couple of questions for the experienced sleevers out there ????

So I'm wondering how long the gurgling and tightness of chest will happen. I'm currently in the puree and stage and only eating what the doctor has told me to (even though it's been extremely difficult ) and after one bite I get LOUD gurgling and my chest feels tight. It sucks to eat ????..it makes me sad at times.and I sometimes regret my decision. .but thankfully every day gets better (as far as emotions are concerned) sometimes I think I got this surgery too young...but anyways..does this uncomfortable feeling with eating food go away with time? Will I eventually be able to eat without experiencing this?

Also...when were you guys able to eat 1 cup of food comfortably? Thanks in advance for your time.

Miss Tummy sounded like a dinosaur fight for about three months.

I was able to eat a cup of food right around one year. At 23 months, that is still my comfort level.

I never had the gurgling and the only time I experienced tightness was if I ate too fast. I'm 14mths out and I eat between 3/4 and 1 cup depending on the food. I am simply no longer interested in large quantities of food.

I'm about 11 months out and able to eat close to 1.5 cups at a sitting. The gurgling has not gone away however and I was told it might be permanent. I'm fine with that tho since it's a minor thing compared to where I was.

I am almost 9 months out and I can eat about 2/3 cup of food like spinach or broccoli florets, but only about 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, Beans, or Greek yogurt. I can eat 3 to 4 ounces of lean chicken and fish. I can eat about 2 1/2 ounces of steak and roast beef.

And my stomach talks all of the time! Very embarrassing at times! I just laugh at it!

I had my surgery 10/28/15, 28 pounds that's impressive. I'm down 20, and I have the same issues. I don't feel like I'm eating enough, but it's all I can handle. I have no regrets. Hope you feel better.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
