Have you tried to dilute them down with Water or milk? If the sweetness is what bothers you that be enough to make them more palatable.

There are many, many types of low carb-low calorie Protein shakes and powder.

I'd try a few different brands and flavors.

There's even unflavored by powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury.

There are Protein "waters", too, by Isopure.

I too have an issue with sickeningly sweet tastes now, I have to Water down my Powerade zero. I have unflavored Isopure Protein Powder which can go in pretty much anything, it says it goes in hot beverages, but it does not mix well into something hot, you have to put it in before you heat it up! I put it in broth & SF hot cocoa.

i can't handle them - became lactose and galactose intolerant, freaked me out during puree/liquid stage as i was struggling to get Protein in, but i ended up blending meat with a little veggie Soup and having savory Protein Shakes well not shakes but you know a high protein soup/gravey that was yummy and obviously not sweet!

I pour mine over ice. The ice dilutes the shake, makes it less sweet, but not too watery.

Is there anything wrong with getting a smoothie? The thought of most all food right now is repulsing.. I can barely tolerate smells. I'm going to try to make the soft scrambled eggs because eggs are Protein

Depends on what's in the smoothie. Many of them are full of fruit/sugar/carbs (like Jamba juice and that type). Those really shouldn't be part of your diet. If you want to make your own with protein powder and Greek yogurt and ice, sure why not!

We have a place called smoothie king, I'm going to look at their nutritional values and then decided and discuss with NUT tomorrow. If that isn't permitted then I will try making my own!

Are you on myfitnesspal? It helps to see what other people who have been sleeved are doing for their Protein. There are many options and seeing other sleevers food diaries is a big help for me to look at other options.

Looked at smoothie King website and they are all super high in carbs. Even the lean and slim-n-trim and Greek yogurt and high Protein and "shredder" ones. The one with the least carbs (vanilla Shredder) has 30g carbs and 12g sugar. The Greek yogurt ones have over 60g sugar.

The one that might be ok is the Gladiator IF you have it with no fruit:

http://www.smoothieking.com/menu/smoothies/fitness-blends/gladiator

It's 180 calories with 45g of Protein and no carbs. Use the link above to see how the macros change with adding fruit.< /p>

I would stay far away from most of these during the loss phase. Even being in maintenance I would stay away except for when I have a race coming up--I'm a distance runner. Way too much sugar and carbs.

Have you tried Fair Life milk? 2 servings of the fat free milk (16 oz) has almost the same amount of Protein as a premier Protein shake (26 vs 30 g), and the same number of calories. I'm getting really tired of the shakes, and thinking about swapping my shakes for this milk some days, just for a break.

Kroger sells carb master milk in plain or chocolate. I got to where I had a hard time with the Protein Shakes too but I'm good with the carb master milk. I drink the chocolate one and it's like 60 or 80 calories and 11 grams of Protein for 8 ounces.

I make my own and use plain greek yogurt to increase the Protein and cut the sweet. During my all liquid phase I did 2 sweet shakes I made in the nutra bullet and then added unflavored Protein Powder into broth for dinner. That savory made made things bearable.

I have no problems blending it into hot beverage. You can't add it over direct heat or it will clump. I either add the powder while whisking after it's in the bowl/cup, or I dissolve the powder with a tiny bit of warmer Water and then temper the hot liquids into it. Either way it's completely dissolved and smooth every time.

Pretty much any store bought smoothie is going to be high in carbs and sugar and low in protein.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
