Providers being super accomodating?

Recommended Posts

Have you noticed providers giving you support along the way? I had my first visit at the biariatric office last week Thursdsy where I was told I met the criteria for the surgery and to start getting things done on the to do list. I am blown away with how great all the offices and providers have been to help speed up the process when I tell them I am doing the WLS.

Psych was willing to meet me this Sat at 7:00 a.m. with a follow up in two weeks, again on a Saturday. I had my appointment this morning already with a new GP I haven't seen before (due to insurance), and she said she would have the report sent in a week. She even put a rush on the sleep study.

At this rate I will have everything done in 3 weeks except the last NUT!

That's good of them. It is a profitable business with competition so it's important to give good service

I was actually shocked. I expected my PCP to give me trouble but when I went in she was very happy for me and wrote my letter right there on the spot. My surgeons staff has also been incredible. I can email any one of them with a question and they get back to me within 10 minutes. ALL of my appointments were scheduled out in advance so I knew ahead of time. I'm very glad I chose this program. Even the hospital staff and nurses were fantastic when I went in for my endoscopy. It really eases my nerves.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
