Seeking new Surgeon and Support System - 1 week post-op

Recommended Posts

I had the sleeve done last Monday, October 19, 2015 and unfortunately I had the most horrible experience in the hospital and several issues post-op. Although I should, I will not, state the name of the hospital or doctor. This experience has had a horrible mental effect on me and I just can't move forward with the doctor or hospital as a support systems if I want to succeed. I now find myself looking for a new doctor to handle my post-op needs as well as a hospital or facility that will offer a support system for me. Is there anyone out there that can help or recommend anyone in the Baltimore area?

I began this journey excited with the chance to have a fresh start and motivated to help myself and to do everything necessary to be successful and now my spirit has been broken. I am just beside myself. I want to try and make this a good thing for me again and get past this so joining this site is my first step.

Thanks for listening.

I am extremely sorry to read your post, no one should have to go through additional emotional stress when there are so many other areas of stress you are coping with.

Is there any way for you to resolve your current feelings with what has happened with the surgeon and the hospital? If not, start making some phone calls to other surgeons in your area. Not every practice is willing to accept patients from another practice. I encountered this when I moved to another state.

You always have the option of reporting the surgeon and the hospital to the state board which oversees their operation and ethics.

I wish I could offer more insights...take care. I hope your situation can be resolved expeditiously.

I think yes you are write that name of doctor and hospital should not be disclosed.Well support systems should be bets where you can start your journey in all way.I can suggest you a list of openings as in surgeon. You can go through that process and get the best position you want.

Have you talked to your insurance company? They may have a list of surgeon's in their network. Be sure and find a center of excellence. Best of luck with your recovery.

Everyone has different experience with surgery, and not all surgeries go well. This doesn't mean your surgeon is bad or this will happen to you.

If you have concerns about her you can do some basic research here : http://www.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-christina-li-ygg5s/background-check

One bad experience doesn't mean your surgeon is bad nor does it mean it will happen to you.

I know my reply is late and you most likely had surgery but this doctor isn't mine....I hope you are happy with your progress.

I have been dropping weight but I've gone through a deep depression over the situation and stopped loosing for several months, I drop and gain the same 5 lbs. I'm sure people will say get over it but you don't know what someone has been thru until you've Wales in their shoes. Now I have an issue finding a new dr to do my follow-ups with.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
