After 9 Months and Great Results...Im Getting Hungry

Recommended Posts

Havent been on this board for a while, so Hello to All! I was banded back in early January of this year and have accomplished amazing results with the band and with my health. I have lost almost 20 inches on my waist, off 4 of my 5 daily medications and over 120 pounds to date. I have followed my 1200 calorie a day plan to a tee.

But all of a sudden, right after the change in season and temperatures. I have been going off my plan and craving Snacks and junk like chips and stuff.

I think it gets harder the further out we all are. I know there are times I get hungry and I even have cravings for some junk food. I am in maintenance now so I give myself a little more freedom in having the occasional treat. However, it can be hard to rein in the bad eating.

One thing that has worked for me is that if I find the cravings getting out of control then I do one or two days of liquid Protein Shakes only, then a few days of only high Protein foods. That usually breaks the junk cravings for me!

It is a balancing act to find out what works best for you!!

Good luck you can beat those junk foods that are calling your name.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
