Anyone having surgery in November?

I finally got my date it's November 19th at 3:30. I go for my pre op appointment on Tuesday. I'm a mix of emotions. I am excited and ready to start this but having some anxiety about the actual surgery. This will be my first time undergoing something of this nature. I am also curious how everyone felt right after and how long before you were up and around? I have 3 kids 2 of which I homeschool my husband will be home to help out for a week but after that he goes back to work, he is an over the road truck driver so I am hoping I am doing well by then.

I'm having my surgery at kaiser and we start with a pre op meal plan that we have to follow up until surgery. We have no liquid diet.

my surgeon also does surgeries for Kaiser in Denver. I wonder if that means there's a chance I won't have a liquid diet too? What's it like? Just super low carb and sugar free?
Here at kaiser in California, we have a 1200 calorie meal plan that's low carb and no sugar. We cannot drink protein shakes either

@@enhance1202 Congrats! That's the same day I am having mine!

My date is November 10. I'm so excited. I can't wait to be on the other side of this! I have my pre op appointments tomorrow, and so far haven't been given a pre op diet. He told me not to gain any weight, but that's all. My brain is in weight loss mode, so I'm doing Protein shakes for Breakfast, a 300 calorie lunch and a 300 calorie dinner, at least for now. Even with that, I've only lost 1 1/2 pounds in 4 days.

Does anyone know why I wasn't given a pre surgery diet?

I am on the 10th too. Not sure why some people don't do preop. I was told to do 2 weeks. Day 3 down 11 to go. I am anxious but so excited as well. Happy to keep in touch. I am in Australia :)

My two week pre op diet consists of three protein shakes a day, one cup of non starchy vegetables, and one TV lean cuisine or weight watchers dinner between 250-300 calories. I do liquids only for the day prior to surgery.

Mine is Nov 12th! Congratulations! @@ski66

Tried canned broth but it tastes greasy or fatty. It's the low fat kind. I need something not so sweet.

I feel the same. I would rather have something salty or even bland at this point.

I heard from a YouTube video that the broth tastes better if you cook actual chicken noodle soup and then strain out the broth.

I'm on Day 12 of my liquid diet which is all clear liquids and 3 meal replacements a day which consist of either a powdered flavored shake, powdered pudding or powdered soup. I've lost 14 lbs so far and ready for this part to be over. I wish all of you the best of luck with your surgeries and I'll see you on the other side????????

I am having surgery Nov 9th. I'm so excited alittle nervous though. I have been on liquid diet for the past week and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. 5 lbs down.

Anyone have a good post op Vitamin recommendation?

I have the same date! Yay! It won't be that long! :) on vitamins, I went with the Bariatric advantage chewable French vanilla for immediately post op and then I got the pill form for later in the month when it's OK to take pills again. The French vanilla are pretty good. They taste like cake mix before you add the eggs and water.
