Hi everyone,

I had my surgery in June and just had my second band fill on September 30th. For about a week everything was fine, business as usual. Then after a week I was disgusted by food. Nothing sounds appetizing. The thought of food makes me nauseated. When I do eat something - yogurt, Protein Shakes, veggies, whatever - it goes down all right so I don't think my band is too tight but I'm not really sure?

Is this maybe just a psychological thing? I did have some bread stick for the first time, which freaked me out. Shortly after is when I lost my taste for all food. :/

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Happened to me that way...my taste for foods completely changed...and to this day, I have no interest in food or eating...

I can, and have gone full 24hrs anf forgot to sit down for a meal...especially when I am occupied doing something else like traveling.

It is as thouigh my brain says I'm full and satisfied, no need to eat, no interest to eat...even though physically I have not had anything to eat all day.

In other words, I haver no hunger, no cravings! I'll take that!!!

Especially when my problem with being obese was that I coukld not stop eating...I was like a machine or trying to win a contest.

I can go to a resturant and stare at the menu, not finding anything that interests me, and what I do order I don't come close to finishing. Just pick at it........I can wander around a grocery store and come away with next to nothing....

I can go to buffets, parties, family gaterings such as thanksgiving and not be tempted at all....

I don't need any stratagies or plans to get through situations....

The band is the cure for all that....

That is another reason I will not call my band a tool...I have no control over it, or something I can "Use"

It's in control of me....

If you look at the characteristics of the "Green Zone", it simply says "No Hunger"

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
