After i had my seminar like i wasnt able to sleep feeling so dum for going over all this and not being able to do it on my own at the end of the day i do want to but i feel so bad for waisting all this money just because i cant do it alone like anyone normal that eats healthy and goes to the gym for example

I never regretted this for one single minute. Nor do I think it's a waste of $$$ or an indication of lack of self control. We are dealing with multiple factors: genetics, health issues and diseases and addictions. Know when you need help is not a sign of weakness, it's a sign of strength. If we could all do this on our own the need for this surgery wouldn't exist and everyone in the world would be at an idea weight. This surgery isn't magical. You still have to work at. What it does do is give you a chance to relearn how to eat and actually overcome the many roadblocks that have prevented you from losing weight on your own.

Thank you I agree and i kept telling my self this i just cant help feeling a little scared ????

Sort of unrelated but having 3 little ones especially one so young, have you talked to your OB about postpartum depression? It is a very real thing and nothing to be ashamed of. Aside frombthe WLS, I would highly recommend visiting with your Dr about that.

Also know that your feelings and doubts are completely normal. Heck I had those same thought even a month after surgery and I don't have 3 little kids! Even with the small complication I had, I do not regret it. A couple if months ago it was a different story but at 4 1/2 months out , I am so glad I did this. It is a big undertaking so you need to get the depression delay with (assuming it is a treatable clinical depression). And please go see a therapist and work thru some of this stuff. Again Iowa's saying the same to my therapist the week before and even the month after and without her help, I am not sure I could have gotten this far in adjusting. THAT is the best money I have spent.

@ i'm almost 4 weeks post-op and i'm going to tell you my experience. When i got home from the hospital i was so upset with myself for doing the surgery and taking the easy way out. That feeling lasted for about a week but then i started to realize that this was not the easy way out. This is just a helpful tool to aid you along your weight loss journey. What messes with you most is the mental aspect of the process and i think once you get over that first hump then it gets smoother and smoother. Your brain needs to get on the same page as your body and once that happens you forget all the icky stuff and you remember why you decided to do this. To live a long healthy life and my main reason, to be healthy for my kids so i can go to their graduation and whatever they may need me for. Good luck and please stay positive.

8 weeks post, so far no regrets...regret I hadn't done it sooner? Yes. I personally regret that I allowed myself to get to the point where I even became candidate for surgery. But I do not regret the surgery and the changes in my body and mind even with just 2 months into it.

@ i can sympathize with you on being a 25 year old. I only have one little girl and she is 13 months old. I made this decision almost 7 months ago, and its been a hard and long road but it will get better. My surgery is set for the 22nd of this month which is exactly a week from today. Lets connect because I do believe that you would live a happier and healthier life. Its so easy to become depressed after gaining baby weight I was there. But as the scale kept going up I realized that I have to make this change for not only myself but for my baby. Its worth a try hun. I am here for you if you would like to talk. Blessings to you. Feel free to message me.

No regrets other than not doing it sooner.

Take it one day at a time...you will have a whole outlook on life once the weight starts coming off...you will be feeling soo good about yourself!!

to say I never regretted it, I would be lying. Yes there were times that I regretted getting the surgery only because I had felt I took away the one thing I could control and that is what I can eat. I had to get used to giving up some favorite foods and drinking. Looking back I don't regret it but wish I had done it years ago instead of now.

I don't regret having the surgery but it's a very long process to adjust your mindset and get used to the changes your going thru. I love my sleeve tomorrow I will be 6 months out and have lost 88 pounds. I would recommend this to anyone who is considering it.

I would definitely address the depression issues well before having surgery. The hormone release many experience post-op may worsen the depression and make recovery more difficult.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
