I know paleo is considered a fad diet but my favorite clean recipes from pinterest always seem to have paleo in the title.

Yup. Aside from some dairy in the form of cheese (I HAVE to have my cheese) I eat pretty much paleo. I was very strict up until I'd lost about 75% of my weight in about 8 or 9 months, then I incorporated a little bread and crackers in the form of whole grains into my diet. I limit it, and don't do Pasta at all and very little rice.

I kept it pretty simple. Prepare meats or fish in various ways, and salads or green veggies for dinner. shakes or eggs for Breakfast. tuna, chicken or seafood salads, or lunch meat roll ups for lunch. Nuts, cheese or Jerky for Snacks. Repeat.

Like I said, pretty boring and simple. But it works for me :)

There is a site called bariatricfoodie.com or also there's a free bariatric cookbook from Georgetown... You can just search it and it should come up. I use a lot of vegetarian recipes and then add in tofu or veggie crumble. I'm a big van of spaghetti squash... And I also I do each some legumes... Occasionally chick peas or whatnot.

Seriously no joke, you sound just like me! ???? I have to have my cheese too. So that is my paleo cheat lol but yes I eat boring too.... & simple. I try to stay away from snacking on nuts or almonds because I know cal count can add up if I don't watch how many I eat ...I do deli meat & cheese roll ups, tuna, chickens, meats etc. No breads, rice etc.

I did a quick Google search and found these 2 bariatric friendly cook books from Georgetown Community Hospital.

http://georgetowncommunityhospital.com/sites/www_georgetowncommunityhospital_com/Uploads/CookBook.pdf

http://georgetowncommunityhospital.com/sites/www_georgetowncommunityhospital_com/Uploads/BARATRIC%20COOKBOOK.pdf

I want to lose as much as I can in my first year. I will not cheat or give in etc. I went into this surgery knowing my life was changing forever & I was not going back. I have no interest in carbs or sweets shockingly. Thankfully.

So I have been looking at recipes on here & various Bariatric sites & Pinterest & I am worried when I see carbs. I want to stay away from carbs.

So I am calling out to all of the VERY STRICT sleevers who are in their first year or who are past their first year and were strict. I am looking for ideas of recipes with no carbs & no sugar please.

Can we start a thread going here to support each other? Thanks in advance

Eat fish, you can't go wrong with fish unless you fry it, don't do that. :) especially fatty fish loaded with omega-3 fatty acids like Salmon, tuna, sardines, herring & trout.

I was a Keto before surgery, and I loved being Keto, the energy and how good you feel is like nothing else. I will be Keto forever. Unless a carb is in a green veggie I am not interested.

Yes keto diet, it puts you into a ketotis metabolic state. I also prefer that as well. I usually just called it the low carb, high Protein diet. I didn't know it had a true name ???????? although I do have fruit once or twice a week.

Keto is a little different than just low carb high Protein because you are keeping a balanced ratio of fats, carbs and protein. The balance works better than a low fat or a low carb diet.

I respond best to this type of diet, also. If I was a little more disciplined, I would follow it even more strictly.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
