Tampa Florida fill help

Recommended Posts

I recently relocated to Tampa Florida. My new insurance will not start until January 2016. I had an unfill after a Tummy Tuck. I experienced alot of avid reflux I believe due to swelling from tummy tuck procedure.

Any advice on local doctors for private pay?

Hi Yvonne 1970 I can recommend Dr. Chavda

205 S. Moon Ave. Brandon Fl. 33511

813 6814644

He is just outside Tampa inBon off 60. He was the only Dr.

in Florida that I could find that would do fills. I had my lap band done in Port Huron Michigan. I drove 45 min. from

Brooksville Fl. I had my lap band in from 2009 to 2013. It worked for me fine. I lost 100 lbs. then I started to gain weight. Dr. Chavda thought it was my port. He changed out my port. Then the port got infected. They did a scope and found the banding was trying to integrate itself into the stomach of my lining. Dr Chavda then referred me to Dr Murr at Tampa General Hospital. He is one of the top 10 lap band physicians in the united states. I had to have surgery to have it removed. Dr. Murr said in most cases the band would just go thru the lining and wind up sitting in the bottom of stomach. In my case the stomach lining was attaching itself to the banding all the way around. I was in surgery 4 1/2 hrs. I almost died twice, in surgery. I was in the hospital almost 4 weeks, due to an bacterial infection in my stomach. It took me 6 months to clear that up.. I was thankful to Dr. Chavda for transferring me to Dr. Mirr. Dr. Chavda is a good Dr.

He was scheduled to do the surgery himself. I think if he would have tried to do it, I would have died. Just be careful with your lap band. Make sure you have a scope done every two or three years. I'm not sorry I had it done, I've gained 25 lbs. back but I'm trying to lose that, on my own. It's still a struggle. I think once you have a severe weight problem. You always have that fear of it coming back. any questions call me at 239 2181970 or email at ruthwohl@live.com. Good luck. Ruth

I called. . The receptionist was one of the most unknowable ones I've called. . She told me $150 for visit n $500 for the fill. That's crazy.

I was fortunate to have insurance paym. I only had co pay. Try Dr mirr at tampa general. See what they say. You are right. That is outrageous. Prior to that i was private pay and had a dr. Out of port Charlotte. Fl. I cant remember the name but i remember i thought it was reasonable.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
