I was just banded 8/6/07. I've been reading everyone's blogs and I must have had a different lapband surgery than the rest of you. hehe ;) 5 days Clear Liquids pre-op. 2 weeks clear liquids post op. Geez, I want a meatball. They knocked me out good morning of surgery. Appearantly, I'm funny. Who knew!! When I came out, I was so dehydrated I wanted ice chips like they were the best things on Earth. I'm out of pain killers, as of today. I think I'll be ok to sleep tonight though. One thing no one has mentioned....I was so swollen and bloated from the gasses it was unbelievable. No one prepared me to look bigger when I came out than when I went in. I just now think I'm out of the gas that they bloat you up with. I would like to know if I could have something sensible...like an egg or something. Or would this hurt me?

My date is August 15th. It is finally here. Acutally, I am blessed because my first meeting with the diatician was June 26th so though it seems like it has taken forever? It really has been a smooth process, I am finally in my last couple of days before banding. I have read, prayed, been nervous, ecastic, depressed, etc. Glad you are all out there. I don't feel lonely at all.

Congratulations...........I too was banded on the 10th and I am extremely swollen and filled with air that has caused me gas pains. Gas X has worked for me and walking helps a lot! This is the greatest thing, I just have to get used to it. I was told that we should just do liquids for the first 2 weeks after surgery because you dont want to enlarge your pouch- I would wait for the egg until the two weeks. Are you feeling hungry? I dont feel like eating anything....I am full after I drink 2 oz. of Soup.< /p>

Count me in for the CRAZY ATES

hello all my band date is 8/17/2007 and I am very nervous and scared. The only thing that keeps me from backing out is thinking of my future if I don't have it done,,My husband is sweet one of those men who never says anyhting about my weight, but he did say he only wants me healthy to spend the rest of my life with him. I am on my liquids now and did cheat this past weekend. Is anyone else in this boat? Should I tell My DR. about the weekend cheating and keep in mind the cheating was about 1/2 of what I would eat before?:help:

mariposa,

Hi, I was very nervous. The surgery went very smoothly.

I am excited to be banded...i'm on my way !! I have no

regrets. I figured if I went on at the weight I was at,

I would start having complications from being overweight.

I was told to do a full liquid diet the week before, the night

before and 2 days after were Clear Liquids. Now I am on full

liquid again for 2 weeks. I am just starting to get hungry now.

I cheated a little the week before, but only on things I could

already have. The first 3 days we were allowed 15 crackers,

1 cup of veggies, and 1 cup of fruit. I had like a sleeve of crackers

each day, the other 3 days I snuck in some crackers. I did not

tell, and they did not ask. They only made sure I did the clear

liquids the night before. good luck to you !!

OMG, tismepatti -- I've been a crack(er)-head this week, too!

I did good -- no cheating -- before my first trip to the hospital. Alas, no surgery. Then I had to wait another 5 days -- only a tiny, consolation cheat.

But after my second trip to the hospital produced NO SURGERY, I had to have food that required CHEWING. I've been struggling to get back on the straight and narrow, but the saltines have been taunting me from their tightly sealed little sleeves!!!

Isn't it weird the things you can fixate on when you're so limited in your choices??

Lets hope that tomorrow I get more than my weekly I.V. and heparin shot!

I want a band!! #&%^@(:angry

Hehe !! I usually never even eat crackers. I figured, since I bought fat

free, it would'nt be to bad. I have a half pack staring me down right

now....man I would love a cracker. I'm not hungry, it's just head hunger.

cravings. I will be done my 1st full liquid week on thur. then one more to

go. I am really looking forward to the soft food. Nana hope all goes well

today. That would have driven me nuts having the surgery put off twice.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
