Stalling.....looking for some fun healthy recipes

Recommended Posts

hi everyone! Well...I've found myself at a stall. Though I must say, I'm okay with it. Since my pancreatitis episode I'm perfectly happy not losing too much too fast. I have actually been the same weight, give or take a pound or 3 for almost 3 weeks. I've gradually began eating somewhat normally but am getting bored with ground turkey and veggies and eggs. I'm only 2 months post-op, and am on soft-solid foods. Anyone have any fun recipes that they love and are willing to share? Anything but the ricotta bake....that's what I ate the night before I landed in the ER....I know it wasn't the reason, but well..........you know...haha

Thanks!

Have you looked on Pinterest? I have a ton of low carb, high Protein recipes pinned. Not all of them will be soft foods stage acceptable, but many are. I even have a whole board devoted to Soup. I LOVE Soup. If you want to peek at my boards, my username is Ttdish.

Google. Everyone has different requirements so google and find recipes that have things you can eat. Also there is a recipe section on this site.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
