My doc put me on 1000 calories a day after 2 months, so I don't think 1300 is necessarily too high. I'm guessing at my 6 month post-op, she'll increase my calories to about that as well.

I am wondering the same about calories. How many should I eat? I lost 86lbs and I'm now at my normal weight in only 6 months. Now I need to maintain. I'm at about 1000/1200 per day, I get 70/80 Protein per day. Stay low in sugars and carbs. Doing Zumba about 3 times/week. In terrified to gain weight again, but I'm still loosing about 1 lbs at week.

@@foodfighter78 that's amazing! It sounds like you're in maintenance and your doctor should give you a plan of action.

@@foodfighter78 he didn't have any suggestions about calories? Meeting with the nutritionist is definitely necessary because they can be much more specific, but maybe your doctor can give you at least a ballpark figure while you wait for the appointment.

A woman that Is beginner that takes up weight bodybuilding will gain maximum 5lbs of muscle in a year the second year 3lbs and after that. Maximum of 2.

So it's hard to build up long story short.

You need to drink more Water to help with flushing I find I know for myself I initially gain a pound or two- then drop it quickly when I gist start up a new weightlifting routine

@@foodfighter78 well I guess I'd follow his instructions. While it's good to know what other people have done, for me, my doctor's instructions are the most important.

@@smallbmi good to know! I actually drink a lot of Water. I always get the minimum of 64 ounces and usually much closer to 100, depending on how hot it's been!

@@vickylg thanks! I think that's too low for me. I've gone back to the 1000 - 1200 range and that seems to have gotten things moving again.

Sweet potato recipe- wash it and stab it several times with a knife or fork. Place it in your microwave for about 6-8 minutes on high. If it yields easily to pressure with your thumb ( be sure and wear a mitt because it's really hot) then it's done. I always wrap mine in aluminum foil and let it finish cooking about 5 minutes. Split it in half and mash. I usually dot it with a bit of butter and fresh chives but you can definitely eat it without that. So yummy!

They are usually way too big, so be aware of portion size????

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
