I am also November 2nd. Just found out about bariatricpal and love the buddy idea. I'm in SF, CA area, have lots of weight to lose and am excited and nervous.

Congratulations! I just got my date of November 5th! I'm so nervous and excited ... I tried to start a forum but so far no luck on comments back is there something I'm missing? .......... does anyone know if teas are allowed the first couple weeks after surgery?

Ask your surgeon or your nutritionist. I don't drink coffee, but I am a big Tea junkie. They told me I could have decaffeinated herbal tea in phase 1 after surgery (not too hot)

I'm scheduled for November 18 to be sleeved on Long Island

Awesome everyone. .. Congrats on getting your date.... we wi lol be on the loser bench sure enough.

I'm hoping and praying for a late November date. They told me there are 3 dates left in Nov and I am getting my checklist done much faster than those that they expected to fill those dates...I'm already scheduled for my last two checklist items (Blood work & NUT). I started my pre-op diet 3 days ago, so fingers crossed! Good luck to you all!

Iam nov 9th going to mexico

Are u nerous about going to mexico

I actually went to see the facility and I think it's okay. Might be a little more comfortable if it were more like a U.S. Hospital rather than an outpatient facility with overnight beds. I am less nervous about going than about sharing my choice with other people...my family would go nuts!

I understand but u need to do whats right for u, i wish I was brave enough , would save me a lot of money since I am paying out of pocket since insurance will not cover!

Two years ago when I leave Oakes into this I wouldn't have guessed I'd choose Mexico...researched well...even made the site visit to meet the doctor. He is not the cheapest guy down there.

Make that "when I first looked into this"

I'm scheduled for November 2nd! The countdown has started!

Where are u from, it would cost me a great deal just to fly there since I am in LA, how many nights do u have to stay

Dr. Ariel Ortiz, fly into San Diego, they transport from there. 3 nights hotel and one night clinic are included in package at 6500. Ned's about 200, and cost of getting to San Diego are only add one.

I am November 4th! I, too, am going to Dr. Ortiz in Mexico. I am from Cleveland, OH.

My sister is coming w me and we will add two days in San Diego after our 4 days in Mexico.

I'll share stats so far...

I'm 41, married with a 6 yr old

HW 323

Weight the day I started pre-op(9/30) 313

Today 309

They want me at 290 on my surgery day so I am on Atkins from now till two weeks then Protein shakes and greens.

Good luck, everyone!!

I've seen someone from the October sleevers start a Facebook group. I don't know much about FB but if someone starts, is definitely join!
