3-days Post-Op (Liquid)
@@_Kate_ I have tried EVERYTHING. I cannot handle just plain lukewarm liquids or full liquids. I have to have them either cold or warm/hot. I am hoping that tomorrow will be better. I was able to get a 5 oz cup of yogurt with Protein powder down in an hour and a half, woo!!!

As soon as I am at the 4 oz. mark, I start getting this heart burn feeling in my chest. At least today was better than yesterday. It give me hope! Thank you all for your experiences!

3-days Post-Op (Liquid)
Hey all, I am 3 days post-op and I am feeling good. I am already off of my pain medication and the gas is for the most part gone. I have no cravings, and I have minimal nausea. The only issue is that I am having a very hard time getting my 64 oz. of liquid in a day. I was able to get the 70 grams of Protein in both yesterday and today, but I can't do more than 2 - 3 oz of Fluid in an hour without getting uncomfortably full. So far I was able to get around 30 oz in yesterday and 28 in today. I am worried that I will get dehydrated. I am doing my best to get the protein in early, so I don't have that mal-nourishment. I called my surgeon's office THREE times, but they have "Modified hours" and were unable to help me. Any advice?

Sizing Help!
Hey guys, So I work at a Cancer Center and it is mandatory for us to wear lab coats when in the presence of patients - The company is nicely purchasing new lab coats with our names and the Center name embroidered on the pocket for professionalism. They are ordering them the end of this month (4 days before my surgery...) and they are expecting them to be here in February. I am not sure what size I should have them order. (Currently I am a size 2XL in my lab coat) Please help with suggestions!

Hawaii Sleevers?
@@butterfly23 I actually got approved two weeks ago =] My surgery is Nov. 4th, just 21 days away!! Castle has you do a 2 week Liver Shrinking diet that starts next week (2 Protein drinks, 2 protein Snacks, one meal), but for the past month they have us do high protein, low carb. For now, I am set on all the essentials (protein, Vitamins, etc.) But I am sure I will branch out and find different flavors later.

Insurance Request Being Submitted!
How awesome! What month do you think you are going to be getting it done in?I was approved in 3 business days by Anthem BCBS in CA. I finally received my surgery date, 12/08/15, so I'm in my 9 week wait. Not too far away!! I tell you, it comes in a snap! I am exactly 3 weeks away, and yesterday it felt like it was forever!

What is everyones favorite Protein Drink?
I like the GNC Lean Protein pre-made shakes for easy grab-and-go. Quest has a few yummy flavors, and they are very filling. For the clear liquid, other than the Isopure, I found AboutTime ProHydrate, it's 95 calories, 0 fat, 20 protein, 3 carbs - it tastes more like a flavored Water, and has less of a gritty, mouth-drying aftertaste I have gotten from Isopure. @@JellyBellyNoMore - I bought five different flavors to try at my gym (24Fitness) they were $1 less than the one at GNC, but then when I found the ones I liked, I bought them at GNC in the pack of 12.

Is everyone on pre op diet?
My doctor requires the liquid diet 24 hours before surgery, but recommends a two week Liver Shrinking Diet so surgery is easier. But it isn't crazy. High protein, low carb, and lots of water. It actually helps with discovering protein shakes for the future, in my opinion.

Hawaii Sleevers?
@@butterfly23 I start the actual pre-op diet next Wednesday, but I think dieting and cutting out processed foods will help a lot with that! Congrats on your weight loss! Maybe we will see each other sometime for support!

November Sleevers
I bought some of the clear protein drinks, so I have them right after. I bought 2 oz. and 4 oz containers that are also freezable, for soups and such. I also bought tiny appetizer plates, herbal tea, sugar-free syrups for flavor, Bariatric Fusion vitamins, UnJury, and a few different protein powders. I just wanted to be prepared to not have to shop after surgery.

Sorry. I'm just not always as confident as I should be, I guess. I thought I would just ask for some help/insight.

Sleep Apnea?
Not my story: My cousin (age 26 at the time) pre-WLS was 360+ lbs., her pulse ox levels were down to 76% at night - she is 5 years post-op now (>120 lbs), and her sleep study results were much better within the year of getting RYN. If you want to talk to her personally, you can private message me and I can share her info with you.

Where are all the single cat ladies?
You should move to Hawaii! There is an organization and a Meet Up group that feed the stray cats at a place I like to call "Cat City" - I volunteered and there are some gorgeous single cat ladies with amazing personalities! (When I say cat ladies... some have 6+ cats on top of taking care of the 200+ in Cat City)

They seemed sane...Dating horror stories
Wish I could add to this topic with a funny story, but I can't. In a way I feel super lucky! My husband was the first adult relationship I had (if 18 counts as being an adult...). I guess I could add that our first actual time out, before we were 'official' without friends, was with my parents... Embarrassingly, my dad said "Nice to meet you! Are you sleeping with my daughter?" and he quickly, without a pause replied "Not yet, sir."
