October 12th for me! I have been on my 3 week pre-op diet for a week now and it is going a lot better than I thought it would. I am anxious/nervous/excited all at the same time!!

What are you all most nervous about? I'm a little nervous about the surgery itself but moreso about failing or regretting a permanent decision.

@@Newtum For me it's the same. I know eventually we will be able to eat food again. I just worry what the permanent things I won't be able to do, will be. And never wanting to gain it back. I hear stories of people who have, and as so many people in this site have said, "everyone has an opinion about what we are doing". I just sat next to a woman who thinks this is really dumb and I shouldn't do it and she wasn't exactly nice as she said it. I'm sure if I told her to quit smoking she would have a reason she can't.

So I just keep reading the success stories, remind myself this is for me only. (And my grandson)! So yes I'm nervous and every other minute I want to change my mind. But I know better and in a year this will be the best thing I did for me! (This is me telling myself this as much as you!).

I have had a few "last meals" and afterwards I always think, "yeah, that was good, but I could deal with not having it again."

I get bummed when I think about the things I'll have to live without, but then I resign myself to the fact that if I could eat/drink those things in moderation I wouldn't be where I'm at now and I'm better off with a tool that will help me avoid them. So, now I'm focusing all my energy on the exciting parts--losing weight, becoming healthy again, etc. and preparing for surgery.

Yes, well said. I agree.

i'm october 13th. SUPER EXCITED. can't wait. somehow i managed not to have to go thru a pre op diet. but i am not drinking any alcohol or taking anything that affects my liver (motrin or anything like that) just in case and trying to low carb as well. all my doctor said was don't gain any weight but no preop diet.

i have to say im not nervous. but i think it's because i have become so depressed about my weight and how i look that even if i died in surgery it would be better than living the rest of my life like this. i only share that here becuz i know we are sleeve sisters and i can. and no i don't have suicidal thoughts. i just would rather be anything or go thru anything (even eating weird portions and limited items for the rest of my life) than stay the way i am now. -_- just being honest.

and i don't fear failure becuz it's not an option for me. i will do whatever it takes. i have to. i can't stay like this. we can do this! :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
