Hello and welcome AmyMarie13, tappingmom, bugsy72, Klolojadie and tera1982!!!!

When does everyone start your pre-op diet? I start mine on 18 November and not looking forward to it. I've been kind of going through a food funeral all month long. Ok, I admit, since like.. August...

Does anyone blog on Wordpress?

I start on November 30th, so I'm sure I will have my food funeral at thanksgiving. It'll no doubt be the happiest funeral I've ever attended lol.

I asked my nutritionist if it would be okay if I have a small meal on Thanksgiving, given I'd still have 5 days of liquids before surgery (as far as clearing out all the pipes, that is....) I'm not a professional of course, but I don't think one meal is going to hurt the size of my liver. I'm NOT looking forward to the pre-op diet.

hello kirstykirst81 and everyone else...

my prediet starts on November 20 I believe, ten days prior to Dec. 1. I am struggling; have GAINED weight, not lost, in the past couple of months. I think I'm freaking out about not being able to have loved foods anymore. I hope I can lose it all (about 8 lbs) and more on the pre-diet. I am also worried about that; but I plan to white-knuckle my way through! I may be on this site a LOT during those ten days!

Hi everyone! I start my pre-op liquid diet on December 2nd so I'll be able to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner. My liquid diet consists of 5-6 Protein Drinks a day plus any calorie-free beverages, including coffee, broth, and sugar free Jello. No solid food/small meals so that is definitely going to be challenging. I've already changed so many of my bad habits in the 9 months it's taken me to get this far that I'm hoping it won't be too bad. I have three kids that are in elementary/middle school and they have a ton of holiday-related activities, so I won't have much down time to just sit and snack.< /p>

I'm stuck with 14 days :( I've fluctuated up and down but not past my highest but luckily I don't have to worry about that as much, being that I'm starting out a lot lower than most.

When I booked my surg date I forgot all about the holidays lol! My pre-op diet is about the same as yours as far as what I can eat.

It's good that you'll be continuously busy. WTG on already making good changes!

I saw the surgeon and NUT today again; i'm getting very excited! They said i COULD have some lean turkey, nonstarch veggie and one serving of carb on thanksgiving day besides my Protein drink; yay! I start the ten day prediet on Nov. 21. I'm ready to do it! (At least i say that now as I'm enjoying eating regular food.)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
